Take a tour of the Kyoto bamboo forest by rickshaw, and on foot, to explore every part of it. First you’ll be pulled by your guide through the green bamboo on a path reserved for rickshaws. Then pass by Nonomiya Shrine and stop for photos at a little park. The last leg is on foot, where you’ll walk to an impressive part of the forest. Early morning is best to avoid the crowds.

Children of 6 years and older are required to have a seat and will thus pay the same price as an adult.
Our seats measure 74cm (29. 1in) in width and can accommodate up to two adults side by side.
Children 5 years and under can ride for free provided that they will sit on the lap of an adult (one child per adult = max 2 adults & 2 children per rickshaw)
If a child 5 years will be using one of the two seats of the rickshaw, it must book as an adult.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.

Bamboo forest rickshaw experience

The bamboo forest was absolutely stunning. The rickshaw allowed to to move easily between the different areas and village. Most importantly, our guide, Yuya, was friendly and very knowledgeable. He was also an amazing photographer so we have fantastic pictures of our experience. Highly recommend

What a fabulous experience!! We did the 60 minute tour, and we saw so much of beautiful Arashiyama in that time. Our rickshaw operator, Yuta, was amazing!!! He did a great job speaking English, taught us a few Japanese phrases, had excellent information about the area, entertained all of our questions, was super engaging and kind, and took excellent pictures! He really could not have been more fun to spend an hour with. Thank you, “Utah!” Everyone we interacted with from the company was friendly and apparently enjoying their day. It was lovely. 10/10 recommend.
