Jay did an amazing job taking us around Kyoto and showing us all the incredible sights and explaining their importance. He took tons of great photos and safely led us through the city. Lunch was fantastic as well. Cant recommend this experience enough!

The best part was combining a moderate workout with amazing sites and knowledgeable local talent. The best part was the professionalism and friendliness of everyone at the operation. From the first greeting to the final goodbye, there was a welcoming and relaxed environment. I will do it again.

We had such an amazing time with Mayco. She was so knowledgeable and sweet. She rode at a great pace and really answered any little question we had about the city. Be prepared to relax at the end of this bike ride cause it's a real ride through the city. But it's totally worth it!

This was a super fun and adventurous way to see as many shrines as we could during our visit to Kyoto. I will say the main reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because I made the tour guide aware of my dietary needs weeks in advance e. I was assured they’d pass that info along to the tour guide. Come to find the day of, he’s asking if anyone had any dietary needs and apparently never got the memo. Maybe it’s just my stupidity to go to Japan with Celiac’s but I ended up at a conveyor belt sushi and all I could eat was edamame and candied sweet potato. By the end of the day I was wiped out and in serious need of food. It was a great tour, I just ask you take dietary needs more seriously.

Really enjoyed our full day tour of Kyoto with Jamie and Paul. Jamie took the time at each location to teach us some Japanese words and about Japanese culture/history. It made the tour an unforgettable experience. We saw so much in one day.

This was a great tour! Jay was awesome and knowledgeable and I ended up with such a fun group of people! We got to see all the major sites of Kyoto and spent a bit of time at all of them. It was super hot that day and he took extra care to make sure we had tons of drink fill up stops and time to put on sunscreen. He even gave us a little detour to go and hop in the river that runs through Kyoto and play around! I definitely would do this one again, it was a great way to see the city and hit a bunch of tourist hotspots at once, the extra information on the spots was great too!

An absolutely amazing experience! Jay is a wonderful guide, he told us a lot of very interesting details along the trip that we would’ve definitely missed on our own. He also arranged a beautiful authentic soba and tenpura meal for us which was just the best. The biking pace was comfortable, the weather was very hot, Jay was very caring and made sure we were all well hydrated.

This tour was everything. I love that we did this on a rainy day because it was truly humid and unbearable the other days. Indra was amazing and very thorough in giving us the history of places as well as taking cool pics of our small group. I loved his style of delivering facts and we also took lots of breaks with all the riding we did. I also hoot to check off many sights I had on my list that would have taken me a longer time to see on my own. As a solo traveler, I highly recommend this tour and Indra as the guide. You won’t regret it :).

The full day Kyoto biking tour was AWESOME! We can not believe how much we saw of beautiful Kyoto! Our guide, Mayco was so patient and interesting. The lunch provided at Kura was perfect. The stops around the city allowed us to get off our bikes and see the sites. We would definitely recommend this tour!

This tour was wonderful! Tiery the guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. He gave us a tip for where to go in the evening and that was fantastic too :) Then we bumped in to him the next day and he suggested we to go to Nijo Castle which we thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely take another tour with Cycle Kyoto next time we’re back in Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️

Riding through the narrow streets of Gion was very cool. We enjoyed learning about the history, seeing shrines and temples and ate a delicious lunch. Our guide, Indra, was very attentive. The bike tour was our one of our favorite parts of our Japan trip.

Jay was such a phenomenal tour guide. He was so passionate about showing us not only the major sites, but smaller gems along the way as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Kyoto, it’s the best way to see everything from the temples and shrines, to quaint neighborhood alleys and shops. So much fun!

I want to give credit, first and foremost, to our guide for doing his best with a somewhat difficult group of people. I don’t blame him for any negative experience we had with the tour, as most of it was out of his control. The one thing I’ll mention is that when a member of our group got a flat tire, it was a little surprising that there was no back up plan if a bike should could not be located. Our guide attempted to fit the flat himself and did the task successfully, but the flat ended up being more than just needing a tube replacement. It delayed us a fair amount. However the guide was very friendly and spoke great English. And he did a great job explaining the sites and giving us a lot of information. It’s definitely a long day so be prepared for that. Don’t make any plans for after the tour because ours actually went 1 hour past the advertised end time and we missed our dinner reservation. Bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast (or it’s rainy season in general). Half of the group ended up bailing due to rain after lunch. I would recommend the tour - but again, just have your evening free and be prepared for a long day. We were exhausted by the end of the tour. It’s also best to be fairly fit as it’s quite a bit of cycling. Our watches clocked around 19 miles.

This ride is a fantastic way to get a feel of Kyoto, by riding through old and new residential neighborhoods, visiting multiple beautiful historic sites, and a nice pedal along the River. Even better was the wonderful history and cultural descriptions by Indra our guide, extending from just rote history, by giving through lines from the past to the present. Even my 12 and 13 year old children really enjoyed his narrations
