My friend and I had the best time! Everything was perfect. From our gracious host, who explained with great knowledge and patience how to make everything. We ended up with a tasty and very filling meal. A gift bag including the recipes and a small gift. I highly recommend the experience!

One of the most fun and memorable parts of our 2 weeks in Japan was the sushi making class with Kana-san. My 18 year old son and I arrived into a beautiful venue with a table perfectly set for our culinary adventure. We learned how to make the sushi rice and from there, Kana-san stepped us through the surprisingly easy steps to make nigiri sushi, gunkanmaki, and rolls. All instruction was in english and we shared the class with another family. The result? A beautiful made-by-you plate of sushi to enjoy as a post-class snack! Highest recommendation: don't miss out on this fabulous experience..great for adults and older kids!

Making sushi in Fushimi

We loved the sushi making as it was great fun. The quality of the fish and other ingredients were first class. Camo explained everything very clearly and the results were really good. We really enjoyed eating our sushi and will definitely try this at home. Also the venue is in a lovely neighbourhood near Fushimi Inari shrine so it made a great day out around Kyoto. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.

Amazing Experience

What a wonderful and memorable experience for our family. Kana and her mom were so patience and kind. Kana was a great teacher, even my 8 year old’s sushi came out looking decent. Her English was good and we understood her instructions perfectly. Kana used rice from her family’s farm for our sushi making class, one of the best sushi rice we’ve had! I suggested that she should package them to sell to guests, I would totally buy them! Kana bought the freshest fish from the market that morning, even my picky eater ate most of his sushi. During our workshop, Kana’s mom took our photos and she e-mailed them to us later, she really thought of everything. We had a noon session and left feeling full in our bellies and happy in our hearts.

We had mistakenly shown up on the wrong day, and Cana made huge strides to ensure we were still able to do the experience, which is testament to her character and kindness. Very enjoyable sushi class with Cana and her mother. Cana went to the Nisiki market early to pick out our fish! Couldn’t be any fresher! The venue was in the Kura gallery built traditionally with no nails. Highly recommend!!!
