I’d recommend this tour! My friend and I only had 2 days in la Fortuna and this gets a lot of the “big” sights in one day. It’s a long-ish day but not particularly strenuous. - The hanging bridges were cool and I just personally, love being in the jungle :). There’s paved paths in this part and lots of tourists, but you’ll be one of them, so embrace it! - the waterfall was cool and massive. The viewpoint before you walk down is beautiful too. We chose not to swim because it has gotten a little chilly/rainy. Tons of steps but wasn’t too bad, saw plenty of older people doing it. Best part was having lunch here, it was delicious. - the volcano hike was my favorite part. You can’t go to the crater of the volcano (no one can) but you get to a nice viewpoint. Really not a strenuous hike but I’m a fairly fit 35 y/o. -Kenya was such a kind and knowledgeable guide, I’d highly suggest her! One thing that could have been better was a prep list of what to bring or wear. My friend and I were wearing shorts, had brought bathing suits, and chaco sandals for water and light hiking just based on the tour description. Turns out no one really knew what to bring (a couple didn’t realize they’d need a bathing suit/that the waterfall was swim-able), we didn’t think to wear closed toed shoes etc. (chacos are meant to be hiked in for moderate hikes so we thought this would be perfect for a tour that involved water and hiking) they really need to give you a better idea of what to bring. Last thing is that you should definitely book a tour in this area. A friend was there before and tried to do a self-tour and did not have a good experience. I recommend this tour as an option!!

Adventure-filled day

This was a really fun day! First we went to the hanging bridges, which were similar to the ones in Monteverde. Then we hiked to the La Fortuna Waterfall, which was beautiful, but be prepared for a lot of steps. We had a very good lunch at a nice restaurant right near the waterfall. And then we hiked on the Arenal Volcano which was a unique experience. We had a shared tour and met very nice people - shout out to our new friends from Rhode Island and England! Kenya, the tour guide, was great. I wish I had known to wear sneakers but bring water shoes and a towel for the waterfall. I also should have brought a rain jacket since we could easily leave things on the bus. Don’t forget sunscreen and insect repellent. Have fun- this was a great way to see a lot of different things in aone day.

Disappointing day

Disappointing I waited on the street for 90 minutes to be picked up. Pick up was to be at 8. Transport arrived at 9.30!!! I phoned twice and on both occasions I was told we’re having trouble with the car and we’ll be there in 10 minutes. I phone 30 minutes later and it’s the same story. Trouble with the car and I’ll be there in 10 minutes. The places we visited were all outstanding but it was a very bad start to the day. The group was a mixed English and Spanish group but the guide would speak for 5 minutes in Spanish and just one or two sentences. Mind you I was the only English speaker so I guess she had to speak more to the others but that didn’t help me. Then finally just as we reached the volcano down came the rain. Now I know you can’t help that but here’s the thing. It started raining at 4.30. We were to have finished our tour at 4.30 but we finished at 6pm because we were 90 minutes late in the morning. So in other words we would not have been affected by the rain if we had started at 8 o’clock instead of 9.30. So it was a very disappointing day.

This was a great experience for our family with teenage kids. We loved the whole day. Our kid who is scared of heights did great on the swinging bridges, and we handled the 500 steps to the waterfall with no problem (totally worth it). The lunch was excellent too. This tour was great if you want an overview of different areas of La Fortuna! Our guides Pablo and Mario did a great job!

The tour is incredible, I highly recommend it. The person who was our guide, Kenia, dominated the topics she talked about: flora, fauna and history of Costa Rica. In addition to the fact that Kenya has an incredible view to find animals, we were able to see a great variety of them thanks to the fact that she located them easily

We had a great day on the tour. I was a little worried that my physical health may not have been the best for this tour but it was a nice day and not overly strenuous. The steps back up from the water at the waterfall is a bit strenuous but take your time and take quick rests on the way back up. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and very funny. We enjoyed this tour a lot. At the end of the day we hit the hot springs at our resort and all of us agreed it was well worth it. Pura Vida
