La Fortuna waterfall
Suresh_F, Aug 2023
It is good to see if you are at La Fortuna. I think Zipline over waterfall is amazing experience. That is done by zipline company
Quick but beautiful
Brooke_K, Aug 2023
The walk down to the waterfall is all steps. A little steep but not too bad. It goes quick and then there you are at the beautiful waterfall. As many say, the place gets crowded. If you want to avoid the crowds, go early. We went during the rainy season so you could not swim in the section with the waterfall, however you could go to the side and swim there. Once you take pictures it is kinda over so you go back up the steps, that is when it hits you. There are places to rest so it isn't too bad but you definitely feel it. There is a little walk in the orchid garden but that is it. So this trip is very quick and you can schedule something else the same day.
Beautiful and well maintained! DONT forget to download your pass though

The waterfall and swimming were both incredible-just don’t expect to swim much at the base of the falls (the force of the water will push you to shore)-but down river there’s plenty of room to float. Also DONT forget to download the passes-there’s no signal there.
Great waterfall, no skip the line
Todd_E, June 2023
No skip the line option, luckily the line wasn’t very long. Amazing waterfall, definitely worth the visit. Not for the weak, 500 steps down and back up.
Worth it!
Beth_B, June 2023
Absolutely stunning waterfall!! The trek down isn’t so bad but coming back up is quite the challenge! There are 500 steps in total that take you down and then back up again. There are plenty of places to take a rest along the way! It was worth every one of the steps though! Take your time and enjoy the reward!!
Great experience!
Vrushabh_D, June 2023
Easy check-in! Great waterfall but it is a 500 step staircase each way so coming back up is a little difficult. Would totally recommend though!

Absolutely breathtaking! One of my favorite things in Costa Rica! Once down there, it is very rocky and slick, so definitely wear good hiking sandals/shoes. We didn’t think the steps back up were too bad, but there are areas to stop and rest along the way!

We went on a day you could not get into the water, but it was still beautiful. Make sure you get your body ready for the hike down and up!

Booking was pretty straight forward and good to see options of different activities we can select from.
Waterfall experience

Beautiful location, absolutely worth a visit. We could enter immediately and head to the waterfalls. The water is crystal clear, but cold! :)
Great waterfall

Great place to visit. Viator's price was the same as if you would pay at the entrance - why not go with Viator for the advantage of not having to wait in line to pay for the tickets the day off. To be honest, we were there the first week of March, and the ticket line was not long at all
Leg pain for days but well worth the hike!
Michael_A, Feb 2023
The waterfall is a stunning example of the power of nature! So much water, hitting with such force of impact! The hike down the stairs is no joke. We had to go quickly because we arrived so late in the day after a long drive from San Jose. Our legs were shaking when we go to the falls, making the walk over the rocks to get to the water even more challenging. But it was all worth the price of admission and more! We had an overcast day and the water was freezing cold but I can imagine on a sunny day, it would be perfect! Definitely book the tickets ahead of time to avoid the lines. Arriving late we missed the lines so that was one benefit of our schedule.
View from the top is nice, stairs aren't.
Kathleen_G, Feb 2023
If you don't like stairs, don't go to the bottom of the waterfall. It's approximately 500 steps straight up.

Well worth ur morning to do this trip. I’m not in very good physical shape so I was worried about the stairs. It really wasn’t a big issue. Plenty of places to stop along the way. Everyone was stopping so it was no big deal to join them;)
Undeniably one of the best waterfalls in Costa Rica
Jennifer_T, Nov 2022
It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I was blown away by how beautiful the waterfalls were, even though we couldn't swim due to the current. The entire area is well maintained, easy to navigate, and the staff is knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Costa Rica.
Hike to the Waterfall, it's beautiful! Would recommend!
Robin_V, June 2022
The waterfall is so beautiful & well worth the hike down to see it. There are MANY stairs, over 500 but wasn't too bad at all. We got our workout in for the day. I would recommend hiking down to the waterfall, we really enjoyed it & got some great family time & photos there!

Merlin_C, May 2022
Arrived 3:45 pm, just started to rain, was pouring so hard when we arrived falls, had falls to ourselves with one other couple, was amazing to be at popular spot alone, personally would only return on the rain and we swam 40 min and were back intime for Beer at the top 5pm
Wonderful and affordable experience
Suzanne_S, Apr 2022
We bought the “skip-the-line” pass but honestly we didn’t need it - perhaps due to the timing of when we went (around 12pm). The waterfall was beautiful and even though there were quite a number of people there everyone was respectful and allowed others room for pictures/swimming. I will say the warnings are legit - it is tiring climbing back up those stairs but they are kind enough to put seating at different points if you need to stop for a breather.
Beautiful waterfall
Tomoko_T, Mar 2022
Very beautiful waterfall with very clear water that you can see fish swimming. It's definitely worth a visit but there it's a very long staircase to get there though so coming back up can be a little tough.
Breath taking
SandyGrimes, Feb 2022
Beautiful place! 500 steps each way but welll worth it. If you are in the area you can also check out the hanging bride park
