Dona Chela will help you to prepare the dishes with ingredients from her garden, which you can also wander around before and after you cook. You'll cook your food in the traditional, old school way, by using the wood-fired stove in the kitchen.

My husband and I were traveling with our 4 adult children and this was a must do on our list. Such a beautiful setting for a cooking class. We learned how to prepare a traditional Costa Rican dinner, and it was so delicious. We learned about the family that runs the cooking class and her family. We enjoyed getting to know each other and left with full bellies and a full heart.

A must do when in La Fortuna

My husband and I were traveling with our 4 adult children and this was a must do on our list. Such a beautiful setting for a cooking class. We learned how to prepare a traditional Costa Rican dinner, and it was so delicious. We learned about the family that runs the cooking class and her family. We enjoyed getting to know each other and left with full bellies and a full heart.

Had a great time with Chela and family!! My husband and I spent our first night in Costa Rica at her kitchen and felt so welcomed. Great cooking experience and had our first Casado! It was a private class for just the two of us, but I could see this being a fun family experience with children, too. Highly recommended!!

Chela, her mother in ‘love’ and her best friend made this a wonderful and unique experience for our family! We picked vegetables from the organic garden, learned about Costa Rica cooking techniques and cooked together over a wood-burning stove. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Costa Rican meal experience.
