What To Expect

Receive a morning pickup from your hotel in the La Fortuna area, after which you transfer to your first activity of the day, featuring an exciting zipline adventure through the rain forest canopy.

Strap into your harness and don a helmet as your instructors explain the basics of controlling your speed on the park’s ziplines. Then prepare for fun (and perhaps some adrenaline too) as you fly at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour (70 kilometers per hour) amidst the rain forest treetops like a jungle bird, taking advantage of seven of the zipline course’s best rides. One ride requires a climb up a 54-foot (18-meter) high tower followed by 360-foot (120-meter) ride over a scenic canyon. Another zipline features more than 3,200 feet (980 meters) of cable above La Fortuna Waterfall, making it the longest in the entire park.

After your zipline adventure, hop aboard the trip’s 4x4 jeep and enjoy an included fruit snack as you head to the Balsa River. When you arrive at the white-water rafting spot, put on your gear and get an introduction to safe paddling and rafting commands from your guides. Then climb into your raft and prepare to get wet along the Class II and III rapids of this fast-moving waterway. You might even scout sloths, toucans, and monkeys in the surrounding jungle, and have time to spare for a refreshing swim.

When the rafting trip is done, head to the day’s included lunch spot, where you dig into a typical Costa Rican-style meal served at a traditional country estate. Following lunch, receive a ride back to your hotel in La Fortuna, to be dropped off in the late afternoon.

Amazing experience

Ofred and Jose were excellent guides for the zip lining. They were very patient. The view was spectacular. White water rafting was amazing. Alonzo was a very good instructor none of us fell out. They fed us a delicious fruit snack of watermelon and pineapple. At the end of the tour we had a delicious authentic farm meal. We had a blast.

What an amazing adventure! Highly recommend for anyone! We had many first timers in the group and they absolutely loved it! Jorge Koki our guide was phenomenal in every way! So fun and really knows his stuff! You get a nice little break mid river to jump off a small cliff, swim and eat some fresh fruit. Even saw some monkeys and a sloth along the way! Definitely wear a closed toe water shoe of some sort. I wore water sandals and I’m losing my little toes toenail because of all the rubbing on it!

The zip lining was amazing. Guides were helpful, friendly, and made us feel very safe. The experience was a thrilling was to be in the rainforest! The white water rafting was for sure our favorite part! Our guide, Jorge, was fantastic. He was so much fun and made the trip one of our most memorable experiences. The lunch that was served was delicious and the snack of pineapple and watermelon was perfect! Highly recommend this trip. My 15 & 12 year old boys absolutely loved it!

Full day adventure with a great team!

We had an adventure filled day starting with the zip lining experience and then rafting. We were contacted the day prior to our booking and were offered a pick up instead of meeting at the white water rafting office which was great. The morning started off raining but by the time we arrived at the zip line location, it had luckily tapered off! It was misty and dramatic being in the tree tops during that weather! The zip lining was run really efficiently and felt really safe (and was of course incredibly fun!) They separated out the group of those of us who were headed to go rafting afterward to make sure we ran on time. They took us over to Wave office where we were given snack bags and picked up for the second part of the day! It was a short ride to get to the rafting destination (40 minutes) and we were given detailed instructions about what to do on the way there. Even though the weather in La Fortuna was a bit rainy, the weather was much sunnier and nicer once we made it to the river. The rapids start off a little intense so you don't have much time to warm up to it if you haven't done it before but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our guide Diego on the raft was great with leading the team :) I would definitely do this again if/when visiting the La Fortuna area again!

So much fun!! The rafting was amazing so much fun, the give is fresh fruit, time to swim in between rapids, and lots of jokes even the lower class rapids (we did ii-iii) were thrilling. And the pictures turned out amazing. The lunch after was filling, natural, fresh, and delicious. I would go again and maybe even try the class iV-V since it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be! the zipping was amazing too but the rafting was the best!!

What an amazing tour group. We had the time of our lives. Yes everyone on our boat fell overboard. We all took it in stride and laughed our butts off. Our tour guide was awesome and always made sure we were okay after going overboard. The two safety guides were quick to help get us back in the boat. I highly recommend purchasing the pictures. They were all amazing and our expressions showed how much fun we all had.
