Both parts of the tour were exciting and done well. The Pure Trek canyoning part was so fun and the waterfalls were beautiful. All the employees were outgoing and good at making you feel safe and put at ease. A super fun adventure I’d recommend to all. There were lockers at the start to put all extra belongings in. We took our phones in a wet case, and even though we bought the pictures, I would recommend this because their pics are great, but the photographer wasn’t at every descent and we were able to get some pictures on the hiking trails. Our white water rafting tour was done with Jacamar tours, and we ended up the only ones! (We went during rainy season. A different tour group—which I wasn’t expecting—meant switching buses, etc, but totally fine and this company was great.) This meant a private run down the river with amazing guides. James and his safety kayaker (sorry I forget the name) were very friendly and pointed out a lot of things. We got to see sloths and iguanas. The rapids were category 3 for the first 30m or so and enough to be exciting and provide thrills without being terrifying. The lunch after at La Finquita was very good and the setting there was gorgeous. Wish we had time to take a cooking class. This farm was a beautiful location and the perfect setting to end the day. The tour does take some time in the shuttles to get to the Balsa River, but Christian, the driver was helpful and careful with our belongings when we them left in the shuttle while running the river. James was very talkative and gave us a lot of info on the area. I would highly recommend both parts of the tour and enjoyed both tour companies a lot.

Amazing experience. Still have not received pictures

Since this was a package deal I can’t separate out the 2 reviews that’s why it gets a 3. The waterfall rappel was fantastic. The scenery was gorgeous and the guides were amazing. The white water rapids were also an excellent time and the food was delicious. I am giving a lower review because I paid for the picture package for the rafting and have yet to receive them. I have tried contacting the company numerous times and no reply.

Byren was the sweetest tour guide and very patient with our group during rappelling. The rappelling was an unbelievable experience that we will never forget. The water was refreshing to move through. White water rafting was so exciting and the instructors all had great personalities. The were very charismatic and made the rapids so much fun! I would definitely do this again.

Great tour

It was a great fun to do this combo activity. Rappelling was nicely managed and explained. Drive to the rafting was a bit long (~45 minutes) but it was worth the drive. Rafting was so much fun with our guide Warner. This was our first time doing rafting and he made sure that we always feel safe. We swam at a couple of places during the trip and a stop to eat in the middle was awesome experience. Lunch place was very nice with great local food. Overall an awesome experience. Thank you !!!

This was incredibly fun! I highly recommend doing it! I will say that being fit is a must as it is a very physically demanding activity. We had a ton of fun and ended up buying the photo package as well. Very good price for both activities. The only thing that was a little weird was it was through 2 different companies so there was a lot of bus switching.

Amazing, so worth it!

Truly exceeded expectations. I’ve rappelled in southern Utah, Zion slot canyons several times, and this was remarkable. Very safe as they have an entire backup line to catch you. I was worried about it with my son and it is very safely done. The first rappel was gorgeous, down a waterfall. Total of five rappels. We may even do it again before leaving.

Amazing tour!

Both parts of the tour were absolutely amazing! We didn't realize that the two parts were actually run by different tour companies but that coordinated really well together so it felt seamless. Just make sure to bring a change of clothes so you're not sitting around soaked during lunch!

All the guys were great and very hospitable. This was everyone in my group’s first time white water rafting and we all loved it! Agusto was a great guide, and made sure we had an amazing experience. The waterfall rappelling was also very fun! Everyone was knowledgable of what they were doing, and made us feel safe through it all as well.

There was a little miscommunication on the transportation to the excursion, but the guides were very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. The rappelling was amazing and maybe the best part of our trip to Fortuna.

the best part of my trip. Waterfall rappelling was incredible. Even the drive to the site was fun and engaging. Every person working was kind and funny. I felt incredibly safe. The waterfalls are immaculate. For white water rafting, it was unlike any other experience. I have been white water rafting in the US, and it is so much better in Costa Rica. Augusto and Tyler are the best guides ever. And we saw a sloth eating!!!! Big deal. 10/10 recommend :) will be going back.

Such a fun experience! Our guides were very nice and kept us safe the whole time. The waterfalls were beautiful and I would definitely do this again! Our white water rafting guide Gussy was phenomenal! He had been rafting practically his whole life and was quite funny. Overall great adventure!

Costa Rica water activities

The staff is so friendly and helpful. They ensure not only your safety but that you enjoy and have a good time. My only comment is that we booked this with white water rafting and the tour said it was a total of 5 hours long for both. The water rappelling was 2 hours and then there was another company we got dropped off at for the white water rafting. There we waited for 15 mins in wet clothes and then it was another 45 min drive to the river in our wet clothes. We had a spare change of clothes but did not want to change as we were going to get wet again and would not have any dry clothes. The white water rafting was about 4.5 hours long. In total between the water rappelling and white water rafting it was about 7 hours long. If you decide to do this exact tour, the rapids water is very cold. I suggest bringing a long sleeve water top to keep you warm and 2 changes of clothes. Also bring water shoes as they will get soaked. If you bring a GoPro make sure to ask for the helmet that has the GoPro adapter for both the water rappelling and at the white water rafting be sure to ask for the helmet BEFORE you drive to the river or bring a chest strap for the GoPro as the water is very rough. If you do not have a GoPro, they do take pictures for both activities and you can pay for the pictures in a package. Bring cash to pay for the pictures $30 per company. I cannot emphasize how great the staff is and how hard they work. We would have loved to tip them but no one told us to bring cash. I am very happy we did this tour. The staff is exceptional and Costa Rica is so beautiful 🤩
