Beware of driver excursions

11 hours road trip is torture. Then go to gift stores and see tee shirts saying 3 hours with number of turns etc. Why so long... Because the driver was making lots of stops to sell merchandise. Say hi to a horse, go to a family graveyard, bananna bread (which the hotel offers daily free) I was hostage. And the distination was certainly not worth such a drive. The vehicle was not well air conditioned so we were hot and sweaty.

I would like to thank our driver for bringing everyone safely back to their hotels. The road to Hana still is know as the longest coastal scenic route in the world with 57 miles(11 hours) of beautiful bamboo forests, Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees, spectacular natural waterfalls along the road for natural picture taking, all the nature so close to your window that if there was no glass window you could literally grab the nature and take it home with you. The beauty of Hana known to everyone in the world. there are 640 turns and curves, with 59 bridges that were built early 1900's. The construction people of Hana did a great job of building it maintain it so that we could drive over it safely. Come with us for a day and enjoy/feel the nature into Hana and get lost inside the nature Goddess Pele created for everyone who love Maui to come and enjoy. FEEEEL the nature and you will remember this day for the rest of your life. Yes, we do make the stops at local shops, but it is for restrooms. If you are okay with giving back what you took into your mouth in the nature(in the bushes, behind the trees, behind the rocks) it will still take 11 hours from Lahaina, 10 hours from Wailea, 8 hours from Kahului. With all the single land bridges, 640 turns and curves, again I would like to thank our tour guide for doing a superb job of doing the whole loop around Hana within 11 hours. Your are very luck you came with us. Many tours do not go around the whole Hana: Many other companies come back the same way.

We went on April 14. Tom was our guide. He was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and just made the trip spectacular. It was the most beautiful part of Hawaii that we have seen on our trip so far. The black sand beach and waterfalls were beyond beautiful! We stopped at Sandy’s to get banana bread, which was amazing. We stopped at a little place near the end, where a woman makes her own jewelry, which was beautiful. I highly recommend doing this trip if you’re coming to Maui.

WOW! What an incredible experience this was! First and foremost, Kristie (our guide) was just incredible. She was very knowledgeable about Hawaii and Hana and drove very safely throughout the Road to Hana. We never felt unsafe, and that says something because this drive can get very narrow in several locations. Doing a tour instead of driving yourself is 100% the way to go, and this is just the company for it!

I loved this tour, very prompt a lot of insightful information about the island and the culture. We saw so many beautiful beaches and waterfalls and luckily the weather was absolutely perfect. Great to see Maui and hear about the history. There was questionable driving by the driver which Viator can contact me about. Also the leg room in this vehicle was not ok. If it had been a full van of folks, my family of 4 would have had to bow out of the trip. 12 hours eating your knees is just not ok.
