The bad: 1. Pick up was chaotic. Three buses and three drivers yelling out names. Passengers were confused. There has to be a better way to do this. 2. Guide was obvious in asking for tips. Publicly called out who had “thanked” him and how much he was given. I get it, he wanted to set the benchmark. But that was a bit too much. The good: Once we were situated, everything was good after. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Timing (pickup, drop off) was right on. I felt I had enough time to explore the key areas in Grand Canyon west rim.

Just amazing all the way through. Guano point was absolutely breathtaking. I am so happy we got the chance to see all these amazing landmarks. Lunch was delicious. Tour guide Wayne was incredibly knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend.

Over all this is good value for money as entrance price alone is $56 so to have the coach there plus lunch makes it worthwhile. However, our driver nearly crashed on the freeway, no I’m not over exaggerating the brakes screeched, we swerved and then for the rest of the drive you could smell burning rubber. The coach is run down and in dire need of updating. Air con units all broken and on full blast, everyone was freezing. In fact most people bought blankets from the shop for the way back. Driver was also rude and misogynistic. Told people off for talking, even though I wasn’t talking they were talking very quietly and those of us that were listening could clearly hear! Also it’s not a school trip! We are on holiday. He told the women that we had to walk past all the shiny things in the shop because we could get distracted and be late back. We got back on time for a 2pm departure but we didn’t leave til nearly 3 because of late comers. He threatened us with skipping the hoover dam, but too many people kicked up a stink. I just don’t think he wanted to be there at all.

Carlos was an amazing tour guide. He is a born educator with a fun sense of humor. He makes sure his crew is well informed of the quickest way to get through the lines and goes the extra mile. We had an amazing time and learned how hard hats came into being as well as the term “eighty-sixed.” He made the trip memorable.
