What To Expect

This tour offers ample exploration time at the Hoover Dam. Take part in the guided Discovery Tour where you'll walk through original tunnels, see the huge generators and have amazing scenery from the penstock viewing platform. After the interior tour, visit the exhibit gallery and visitor center.

Also included are stops at the Lake Mead Lookout and capture incredible photos from the Pat Tillman Bridge overlookg the Hoover Dam.

You'll also make a brief stop for photographs at the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign.

Las Vegas Strip (Pass By)

After hotel pickups are finished we depart immediately to the Hoover Dam. Travel time between Las Vegas and the Dam is around 45 minutes each way. Your driver will provide an expert commentary along the way. All vehicles are climate controlled and equipped with, reclining seats, video monitors and over-sized windows.

Be aware trip ran longer than expected which wasnt an issue for us.
If they could increase the tour time for the dam and overpass bridge, it would be great.

I went for the power station tour(turbines) and when I confirm the pickup time I wasn't informed plus it wasn't a guided tour your on your own after being dropped off

Paid for power plant tour. Upon arrival, we were told that our group could not be accommodated. We paid again to join another group. No one has contacted us for a partial refund. Be prepared to spend an hour on the bus after returning to LV as everyone needs to be dropped off at different hotels. Also be prepared for a headache from the music selection on board the bus. Driver was good. Yon general., the tour is just okay. Better views from a helicopter .

Due to miscommunications, our bus group was unable to participate in any of the available tours. Between being told that the power plant tour was not available, when it was available, and also being told we were being given tickets to a government guided tour when the tickets we were given didn’t actually allow us to get into it, all we could do was walk around the exterior of the dam. Please refund our tickets as we could have had the same experience for what we did for far less money. Thank you

When we were picked up by our tour guide, he informed us that the power plant tour was no longer in operation. Henceforth, we would be given passes for a government guided tour of the rest of facility. However, when we arrived on site at the Hoover dam the passes that we received only allowed us a self-guided tour of the visitor center and not of the rest of the dam area which also come to find out the power plant was running tours and when we try to go to the door given told to us by the tour guide that door was locked and had to be rerouted to the other side of the dam.

Instructions were confusing. I was asked to confirm our pick up location which i did at the Mirage. The result was a 10 am time. We were at the pick up location at 10. When no pick up I called and was told time was 8:45 and our tickets had that on them, which it did not. Totally unclear instructions and rude person when I called. We were going to use Viator in Paris in April, but now we will not unless a refund is offered.

The tour was horrible. We were supposed to get to tour the power plant and the inside of the dam. We werent allowed to because our guide said the elevator was broke but when I talked to an employee of the dam they said they still were doing that tour just the line is so long we couldn’t go. It was a complete waste of time and scam by viator. I plan to report them to the BBB.

This was one of the worst experiences on a vacation I have ever dealt with. First our bus driver was 30 min late. Then we get to the Hoover Dam. The driver gets out of the bus, leaves all of us locked in the bus without any air for 30-40 min. When he comes back, he tells us the power plant tour is closed. Which is the only reason we picked this tour. One good thing is we did at least get to see the Hoover Dam, but as we were walking around it I see people going into a door. I asked the worker what part of the tour it was, it was the power plant tour!! That we were told was closed. We told one of the security people what happened, he tells us that if we show up late our time slot is gone and we don’t get to do the tour. I wish we would have been told that and not told it was closed and lied to. No offer given to make up for this. Nothing. I will never use this company again.

We payed for a tour with a tour of the power plant. We couldn’t go on the power plant tour due to construction. That was the only reason we booked the tour. I’d like a full refund.

We enjoyed the tour, however by the end of the day, the tour guide/driver had become an annoyance. We realize safety is important, but if we heard “hold onto the damn rail” once, we heard it 300 or 400 hundred times! I’m glad I didn’t have a child with me. She was knowledgeable and friendly but seemed more interested in getting off the clock early. We were driven on some back roads around the strip thru some very seedy areas. Not a good look! Finally, the $5 per person fee for gas is crazy. There were 49 passengers on the bus. There is no way it cost an add’l $245 to go less than 100 miles round trip. Seems as though someone’s padding their pocketbook. Almost didn’t tip the driver, figure she could be sharing in that fee. The tour at the dam itself was quite interesting so we were glad we went

This tour was unbelievable! I was already so excited to see the Hoover Dam but our bus driver (Kim) made the whole experience that much more memorable 😁 Each stop of the tour was amazing! The bus was very hot and when we asked the driver to turn on AC he said why you all are going to get off anyway ( meanwhile we were on the bus for fourty five minutes after that). The bus also smelled and the driver was very hard to understand

Our driver picked us up 30 minutes late with no explanation. While he shared a few facts along the way, he also reminded the guests to “google it If I don’t know the answer.” This is NOT the reason we booked the grey line tour…. The Bathroom was out of order, and we were sitting in the back row. The area smelled of human waste, which made us nauseous. Charging blocks were ripped out of side walls, so couldn’t plug in our phones. Some sort of alarm Bell was ringing the entire time. Driver said he didn’t know why it was going off, but not to be concerned. The driver generally had a stern tone, though masked with religious overtones…. The bus was clearly in disrepair. Our family probably would have had a more comfortable ride using a rideshare to and from the Hoover Dam.

Be careful. VIATOR says the trip begins at 10am. The bus picks up between 8am and 830am. Bus 5013 intercom didn't work so the enroute trip was boring. The tour itself was awesome.
