What To Expect

Your Colorado River and Grand Canyon sightseeing tour begins with a hotel pickup in Las Vegas. Head to the Boulder City Municipal Airport for your 1-hour round-trip flight through the Grand Canyon's West Rim.

After boarding the helicopter, pass over sites such as the famous Hoover Dam, a modern marvel of engineering; the aqua waters and sandstone shorelines of beautiful Lake Mead; and Fortification Hill, an extinct volcano, before soaring along the winding path of the mighty Colorado River and into the incredible landscape of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

After leaving the Grand Canyon, the return flight will include panoramic views of the rugged Mojave Desert wilderness and more before arriving back in Boulder City.

From there, take a short drive to the Colorado River launch area for a boat float at the base of the Hoover Dam. Climb aboard a comfortable raft, and meander along the river through the Black Canyon. Keep an eye out for bighorn sheep, osprey, and great blue heron in their natural setting. Then stop at a secluded beach to take an optional dip in the clear water, and enjoy a picnic box lunch.

The trip concludes with a Las Vegas hotel drop-off.

Pretty great

Our tour guide and pilot was very good, very knowledgeable. We were disappointed though when we got to the launch area and realized we were not kayaking as we had anticipated. Your website was not clear on how to differentiate.

We booked helicopter/rafting tour after a lot of research and well in advance of our trip. First issue, they do not pick up at MGM hotel. We had to walked across an 8 lane highway before dawn to get picked up. Second issue, I am short and was assigned to sit in the back seat of the helicopter between 3 large people. I could not see out the sides or out the front. Seat assignments are based on balance but there was a small man about my size who sat in front of me who I did not want to be there. He closed his eyes and slept during the flight. My pictures are terrible, no clear view. In addition, you are not allowed to take pictures of the helicopter at the airport, but they take your picture in front of helicopter at the airport and charge you $27 for it. After the helicopter tour, we were driven about an hour outside of Vegas and left at a hotel. Third issue, the rafting group never came to get us! After waiting an hour at the hotel (no cell service in hotel), I went outside in the cold until I could get cell service and called 5 Star. They were shocked and sent the driver to get us. We wasted more than half a day of our vacation, due to a lack of competence and communication. Of course, we were refunded for the rafting, they bought us a sandwich (which was included anyway) and offered a rafting trip on next visit, but we will mostly not return. Fourth issue, the drivers are friendly but all pushed for tips. Tip for pick up at hotel, tip for helicopter pilot (signs in helicopter requesting tip), and tip for second driver to and from rafting trip. I am sure the rafting company would have pushed for tips as well. I am extremely organized and careful when I book tours. I had called 5 Star directly TWICE to verify and confirm trip. Both times I called, the trip was verified and I was assured if the trip did not make they would notify me before the day of the tour. We were fortunate I could find cell service and I had their number when we were stranded an hour outside of Vegas.

Thank you for your feedback. We can confirm that the Rafting Company changed their operating schedule for January 2023, and your rafting booking was not cancelled for your tour day/date. Our Reservations Staff have been notified and all future rafting combination tours are being re-verified. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this caused during your visit to Las Vegas. Please reach out to our company if you plan on re-visiting Las Vegas, we would like to offer a 5 Star experience.

The trip was incredible- from the sunrise as our helicopter took flight to the fun guides, gorgeous views and good food, we loved it! I went with two teenagers and they loved it, too.

Highly recommend Our raft guide Russ was absolutely amazing. This an adventure you must do when visiting Vegas. The views were amazing and the river raft was absolutely breathtaking. The water was so refreshing after being out in the heat.

Our helicopter pilot was Mad Dog. He shared a lot of information and had a great personality. Our driver and our kayak guide helped us out and made our experience great. Kayaking was amazing! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the canyon.
Amazing, Majestic Grand Canyon Helicopter Experience
Phillip_D, Aug 2022
It was breathtaking & amazing!! It is an experience I will never forget. The majesty and splendor of seeing the Grand Canyon from a helicopter is incredible. It is the greatest vantage point possible. Also saw Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Colorado River. The float trip down the Colorado River later that afternoon was also beautiful. The tour raft captain, Russ, was a scream!! He made it an exceptional experience. I highly recommend the experience!!! I already have discussed it and recommended it several times to others while in the Las Vegas area.
Excellent experience

The best way to see Vegas and the Grand canyon. Really friendly information guides on both the helicopter flight and rafts.
Best tour ever!
lindavonw, July 2022
Great experience! Mad Dog Mike gave a great history lesson & tour! Soundtrack to the flight was perfect!!!
Helicopter ride was great but the rafting was terrible. Rafting/kayaking not for small kids.
Catalin_N, July 2022
the helicopter part was great, the pilot was experienced and knowledgeable. The raft part was terrible. We should've been told that this not an experience for a small child. We came with a 5 and 6 year old. It was extremely hot. I do not really understand why you need a raft on a river that barely moves. A boat with some form of shade would be much better. There were 110 degrees outside and we burnt in the sun for 3 hours. The raft pilot was a great guy who offered wet towels to everyone. Save yourself from the heat.
Response from Host, July 2022
Catalin, Thank you for your feedback. The tour is clearly described and not detailed as a white water rafting tour. The temperatures in Nevada/Arizona during the summer are know to all and easily accessible on any weather site. We do are best to accommodate those who are ill prepared with things such as towels etc. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your business.
Amazing Colorado experience and view of the Hoover-dam from above and below

We had an u unforgettable day! The team was fantastic helping us out with a last minute booking and quite frankly with being very unprepared. They made it easy to get to the helicopter and back with great descriptions and timeliness. Our adventure was amazing. Highly recommend
Incredible experience by helicopter and then by kayak!
Peter_A, July 2022
Very well organised trip. We were picked up on time and taken to the helicopter. We then went on to kayak at emerald cave. We got to swim And cool off too. The kayak was around 4 miles round trip and easy in a tandem which I’d recommend. The staff are helpful and teach you about the local plants and the local cable car! You visit the site where they were going to put the hoover dam. All in all amazing trip and amazing sites. Would recommend!!
This was a Wow …

John_R, Apr 2022
The Hoover dam is gorgeous to view and being right at its foot is exhilarating. They let us swim in the Colorado River and even had a chance to drive the boat! Fun fun! Giani and Jana are great hosts.
Highly Recommend. Loved every minute.
Tim_F, Jan 2022
Best tour ever! Helicopter ride was amazing, perfect weather, great people and best pilot ever in Mike ‘Mad dog’.. so much knowledge and experience to share with his enlightened understanding of the Grand Canyon formation. And his laugh was contagious.. We then set off for the kayaking on the Colorado River, once again a great team of people and our guide Mac was fantastic. Lots of interesting info and history. Great pace for newbie kayakers and loved the stops on the way for snacks and a walk for the sights and photo ops. Highly recommend!!
Response from Host, Jan 2022
Tim, Thank you for your review. We are always excited to share with our team the guests feedback and excursion experience. Hope to see you on future excursions.
