What To Expect

Visit the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip anytime during its normal operating hours to see 14 different exhibits devoted to dangerous aquatic predators.

There are more than 100 sharks at Mandalay Bay — and 30 of them appear in the aquarium’s largest exhibit, the 1.3-million-gallon Shipwreck. Visitors can experience several species of sharks (Galapagos sharks, grey reef sharks and zebra sharks), plus endangered sea turtles, stingrays, sawfish and many other fish through a mesmerizing acrylic tunnel.

Other exhibits include the popular Touchpool, featuring stingrays and horseshoe crabs in a 2,500-gallon, interactive saltwater exhibit. Also, look for the rare golden crocodile, Komodo dragon, cichlids (one of the largest families of fishes), Burmese pythons (one of the five largest species of snakes in the world), Amazon predators (home to the giant arapaima, arrowana, pacu and freshwater stingrays), plus a Caribbean reef teeming with parrotfish, pufferfish and other beautiful tropical fish.

There are also venomous fishes, moon jellies, piranhas, a giant Pacific octopus and much more.

You have the opportunity to virtually swim with sharks and whales in the Undersea Explorer VR Theater. This motion-platofrm theater with 360º 3-D virtual reality technology transports you to the oceans of the world to discover what's hidden beneath the surface. The immersive pre-theater area is a great way to learn more about these wonderful aquatic creatures. Suitable for all ages.

Beautiful place to see se and know better about the sea world, the tour is just 1 hour but it worth it, kids are to mostly exiting!
Unpleasant, it was a very far walk for people with health issues, when asked for a wheelchair back to the entrance it was never received.
Don't get me wrong the aquarium was over all awesome.

What an amazing time we had. This is definitely more than I had expected. Beautiful!. I'm very happy we made this one of our activities, while here is Vegas. So much to see, the sharks, sawfish, stingray.....the atmosphere breathtaking
      fun but too short!
      Merlie_C, May 2023
it was nice but too short and a bit unorganized. nonetheless, seeing all the unusual and beautiful kinds of fish and other types of creatures living underwater was really cool.
      Corrie_C, May 2023
Great for kids! They have some really cool sharks and I enjoyed the virtual ride at the end. Its a small aquarium but it is packed with fish. We had a nice time.

Loved it !!!!!! I wish it was a bit bigger for price but my family thought it was a great experience
      Too short
      james_b, May 2023
Enjoyed the tour. Could have been longer. Was advertised for an hour and a half. Took us about 30 minutes and that was taking our time. Other than that it was enjoyable
      Robert_H, May 2023
Viator online only had the next day registration, which I mistakenly selected for 3 tickets, and we could only go that day. Your ticket window says that we can cancel 24 in advance. The tickets say in small print non-refundable. So I lost the money. When you are in the facility the tours don’t have a set time you can go any time.

Neat little activity. Took less than half hour to get through. At the end, there is a little theater you go into & watch a 3D Virtual show- that was the best part

It was a good way to spend Sunday. There weren’t a lot of people and the exhibit was interesting. I’d recommend this activity to anyone traveling solo and/or with children.

Never saw it. No refund. Kma Check your records and see the interaction. Got an automated response to a question that required an interaction. That's BS
      Great experience

Great aquarium and a great place to visit for kids and adults. I would strongly recommend it to families with kids.
      Not so happy.
      Yesenia_M, Apr 2023
Although the aquarium itself was enjoyable, getting the tickets was not. I purchased the tickets ahead of time so that I didn’t have to stand in line later but I still ended up having to stand in line. The voucher had to be redeemed and instead of having a designated line for that I had to wait in line with everyone else. What was the point of purchasing my tickets ahead of time then!
      Touching the stingray....

      Gemma_S, Apr 2023
This was a visit worth doing with the kids when in Vegas. They thoroughly enjoyed it. The day we did it the VR experience was having some technical difficulties but we returned another day and they kindly let us do it then. Something different!
