Rick is the owner/tour guide.He was an awesome guide. He had so many great stories about Vegas past, present and what’s planned for the future. If you just walk around the area on your own it’s nice but it’s way more fun to hear interesting facts about the buildings, hotels and art work. We always stay at a mega hotel on the strip but our eyes were opened to old Vegas. The hotels are beautifully restored and the area was very clean. We plan to visit at night to see the gorgeous neon light display and take tour at Neon museum. If you like learning and seeing hidden gems from the past you would love this tour. It was a highlight of our trip!

Part of the Berlin Wall is in a men’s bathroom in one is the casinos? You can still stay in one of Vegas’ first hotel rooms? Cowboy Vic is officially married to Vegas Vicki? There’s a preying mantis from burning man in arts district? Lol..there’s an arts district?? Who knew? I had so much fun. Great guide! Love downtown Vegas now.

This tour is a ‘must’ for Las Vegas visitors as well as locals! We loved the stories behind all the historic sites, and Rick Hooker’s enthusiasm was extraordinary. He made us feel like we were old friends. We would highly recommend taking this tour!

This tour was such a highlight of my family's Las Vegas trip. Even the most Vegas-skeptical in our group fell in love with the city after seeing the downtown area through Rick's eyes. His deep knowledge, cultural involvement, and love of the area translated into a fabulous tour. We really enjoyed all the out-of-the way sights and learned many cool historical and contemporary tidbits that were wonderful context for the rest of our time in Vegas. The small group aspect was a huge plus as well. Thank you, Rick, for such a great experience!

I highly recommend this tour of the old downtown Fremont area of Vegas. We learned so much and it was very interesting. It greatly exceeded our expectations. Our guide Rick was so knowledgeable and passionate about the downtown area and made it a lot of fun.

Highlite of Our Las Vegas Trip

Rick made Old Las Vegas come to life with his stories and insight about the many historic landmarks. He was knowledgeable about all the little facts and details that you would never think to stop and appreciate. The various casinos had unique features and architecture and we learned about the owners and personalities that frequented them. Ricks stories just brought everything to life for us. He even showed us a piece of the Berlin Wall which was located in the men's bathroom. Needless to say, I got some odd looks from the men! Rick also included East Fremont Street points of interest which we have never ventured into. We have been to Las Vegas numerous times and always stay on the Strip. We never realized what we were missing before and are planning to return to Downtown on our next trip. We definitely want to experience the area after dark and check out some bars and restaurants. All in all, you will not be disappointed in the tour or Rick's interesting and fun narration and would highly recommend it on your next trip to Vegas.

We are locals to Vegas but decided to take the tour with a family member who was visiting. Even though we were familiar with the area, we learned a lot of interesting history of our city and saw many things that were "new" to us. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Rick was an awesome tour guide! The tour was comprehensive and pretty slow paced which was great. Rick was very knowledgeable about downtown Vegas’s history and present. He also had some really good suggestions for us to do for the rest of our stay. Highly recommend this tour for all Vegas visitors!

Rick was a great tour guide! He had so many cool stories that you won't find on Wikipedia. We met at the Mob Museum and he gave us a little history about the place and his old boss Oscar Goodman. The tour started on time and Rick made it so personal, and connected with each person on the tour. I was solo and he made me feel so comfortable mixing with the rest of the group (who were lovely by the way!) For $39 it was a great value, lasting about 1.5 hours and we even got a free cocktail at the end of the tour in the famous El Cortez bar. In a city full of gimmicks, this is not one. Rick is the real deal. If you want to experience Vegas the old school way, this tour I for you! One of my favorite parts was the Main Street Casino, with actual REAL antiques, 100-year-old stained glass and we even snuck into the Mens room to see a piece of the Berlin wall. All in all I had a blast and can’t stop talking about all the things I learned! Cheers to Rick!
