      Tasty and fun!

Delicious and amazing! The market tour is great. Really fun to try all the different fruit and potatoes that Peru has to offer. They prepare small portions of each so you don't entirely fill up before you start the cooking portion of the class. The food was surprisingly simple to cook, but when you have an amazing staff it all seems to go so smoothly, right? Highly recommend this experience, great way to learn about local dishes.
Eat a country to learn it

We were met at the market and showed around to the meat, fish, fruit, vegetable and staple stands. At each we received information about different local products. Local means Peruvian. A vast assortment. Many indigenous but also several imported. With this background we went to the cooking venue and began by making a Pisco sour after our 35 fruit taste and demo session. This drink and the 4 courses that followed were all hands on. We did the work, albeit amply helped by staff for washing up and ably directed by chef instructors. After each course we stopped and ate. Soooo good.We did only Peruvian dishes and with Peruvian ingredients. Several of my menu mysteries were cleared up and eating out in Peru became more fun. Also I now have a recipe collection to do at home. A wonderful experience! The cuisine of Peru is a significant part of the country. Yes visit the archeological sites but also eat Peru and this is an excellent way to do it.
