A bit of a mix up at start but they fixed everything rather quickly the Nature park and boat ride were well worth it.

    Slothe Lovers excursion
    Susan_L, Mar 2023
We had a great day. Alberto was wonderful. It was such an enjoyable tour. We saw lots of wildlife including slothes, monkeys, iguanas, boa constrictor and much more. Our driver was very helpful and a good driver. It was great having an air conditioned bus. We also stopped for lunch and got a taste of local food which was very good. I would recommend this trip. Alberto gets a big thumbs up as a tour guide. He could really spot the wildlife and head lots of interesting facts. Thank you!
Great tour but not a “sloth lovers” tour
    kkurtz09, Mar 2023
Don’t get me wrong, it was a great nature tour. However it was in no way a “sloth lovers tour.” I don’t think we learned anything about sloths. We did see 2x in the park but they were extremely high and you could barely make out their fur even with binos. I had friends that walked around Costa Rica and saw more sloths than us. However, if it wasn’t a “sloth lovers tour” I would have rated it higher. It was a nice nature tour. Just don’t expect to see or learn about sloths as you may think you will.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we search for sloths in their natural habitat. Some times we are able to find many and very close. Sometimes they are away and not easy to see. This is nature. Sorry this time was that day with few sloths to see
    Minimal leadership and lost man
    maranderm, Feb 2023
The “Guide” charged up ahead without gathering the whole group first. One elderly man got lost. It took 2+ hours of waiting before they used the nearby vehicles to rescue him. We were only able to go on the first 1 hr trail of the 4+hour tour. I am requesting a refund of this poorly run excursion that was not completed.
    Response from Host, Feb 2023
Your review is kind of rude and not include the real reason why this gentleman got lost. It was not because our guide Carlos was lacking of leadership. It was because a very isolate and 1 in a million situation. It was not the fault of Carlos but due an older gentleman with dementia wandering off from his very irresponsible and inattentive daughter. Our company and guide never were advised about this medical condition of the passenger and he start walking without control. You were aware about this situation and it is not fair that you come here and post a review without all the real information. Hopefully you or any of your relatives get a medical condiction as this one.
    Beautiful Costa Rica

This was such a good trip. Our guide and driver stopped on route to view sloths and monkeys along the roadside. We even saw a sloth walking on the ground, apparently only once a week they come down from the trees to go to the bathroom and saw him. The banana plantation was so interesting. We saw bananas, cocoa, coffee, star fruits and pineapples!! Also saw leaf cutter ants and a golden viper. The boat trip was potentially great, but sitting at the back in a crowded boat, near the motor in the heat, with another groups unclear guide narrating, it was the weakest part of the trip. Seeing a baby sloth tho was a highlight. We got to stroke it and hear its little 'voice'. Our guide very knowledgeable and organised from pick up to drop off. Lovely place.. Will visit again...

    A Nature Lover's Dream

Starting our tour was a little slow as there was some confusion. The name of the tour was not the same for everyone, so we were not sure if we were in the right area or van. Also, if you are visiting Limon on a cruise ship, be sure to confirm your tour start time. Ship time and local time may be different, which it was for us, resulting in some people showing up early and others late. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful time on this excursion. At our first stop on this small group eco-tour, we boarded a river boat to explore the banks of the Tortuguero Canal. The hour-long cruise was filled with vibrant birds, sleepy sloths, vocal howler monkeys and other rain forest inhabitants visible from inside our boat. When it was difficult to locate some of the animals, our tour guide, Alberto, was excellent at spotting the wildlife and guiding our untrained eyes to their tree top perches. After debarking from the river boat, we headed to a local banana plantation where we enjoyed a brief lesson, about 30 minutes, in the cultivation of bananas, cacao and coffee. Again, Alberto, did a fabulous job, explaining the farm's organic practices and processing steps. We even got to taste the fruits picked fresh from the plants. Our last stop was Cahuita National Park, a small (by American standards), but incredibly beautiful nature reserve that did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our 45-minute walk through the park taking in all the amazing views and learning more about the local flora and fauna. This tour was everything we hoped it would be.

Thank you for your positive review about our tour and tour guide. Sorry for the inconvenience regarding the departure time. We operate all our tours Local Port time, but unfortunately many people do not ready this instruction and cause delays in our operations. We are glad you learn many things about Puerto Limon and Costa Rica in general. Hope to serve you again in the near future.
    Sloths and more
    Earl_M, Nov 2022
We hoped to se a sloth but actually saw about 12 in nature living wild. Also monkeys and a couple of small bats. Informative and a great experience
    Response from Host, Nov 2022
Hello Earl Thank you very much for your review. We love it. We are very happy to read that you sow lots of sloths and in their natural habitat. This is the purpose of this tour, enjoy wildlife and in their natural conditions and not in captivity or rehab centers.

Luis and Jordy were experts at finding wildlife and bringing our boat around so we could all see the critters and get photos - even in the pouring rain. It was an excellent, memorable day and I highly recommend this trip.

    Sloths are super cute!
    Michele S, Dec 2019
We had an amazing guide who grew up in Limon and also spoke English flawlessly. He knew the answers to all the questions. Most importantly, when the weather was bad and we were unable to hike into the rainforest he was able to pivot and take us to a private property to make sure we saw a sloth. On our river cruise portion we saw so much wildlike. It was truly amazing. Our guide is also a fabulous photographer and was able to take some great sloth pictures for me.
