The guided tour was amazing and absolutely worth the extra money!!!

I was hesitant to spend the extra money for a special guided tour of the studios, but I am so glad I did! Georgia was an amazing tour guide and brought everything to life. We learned so much more than had my daughter and I only gone through it by ourselves. We spent ~ 3 hrs touring it with Georgia, and then went back in right away and spent another 6 or so hours going through on our own to take extra photos, do the green screen activities, and take extra time enjoying the exhibits. The studios are amazing, but the tour really made the visit extra special. I highly recommend!! Also, our viator person who got us from London to the studios did just that - got us there on time. He didn't talk about Harry Potter or anything and I wasn't expecting him to do that, so wasn't disappointed. But he was easy to follow with his flag.
Expensive but hassle free and maximised what was on offer.
Chloe_M, Aug 2023
Excellent guide (Nathan), definitely got more out of it than if we had done the self guided digital tour, especially with children as we could all listen to the guide together. He was also able to show us objects from behind the barriers. Enjoyable experience all round.
Cant wait to go again
Jade_L, Aug 2023
Guided tour around the studio was totally worth it since we didn’t have the whole day to explore. The guides were so friendly and knowledgeable everyone wanted to listen in. You also got an extra chance to go back and view things at your leisure which sadly we didn’t have time to use so you could easily spend more than the 6 hours exploring
Worst experience
faizpardesi, Aug 2023
There was 1 ticket left. Customer service convinced me to buy 2 for an event 2 weeks back. On the day of the event I found out I will only get 1 and they'll refund me the second and I couldn't go with my wife. Worst experience for a tourist (especially on the last day)

Amazing tour for Harry Potter fans
Anna_L, Aug 2023
This tour was fantastic! We loved getting to ride the train and then bus up to the studio. The tour itself was lead by the knowledgeable and fun Claire, clearly a huge fan herself. I’d heard the studios were huge and there was much to take in, yet we really had to be there to believe it ourselves. We will definitely do this again.

over all well organized with train tickets, coach and VIP tickets to skip the queue. Worth to experience
YOU WON’T REGRET IT

Mason was unbelievably good as our tour guide. His insight and presence even collected many other self-guided folks who likely wished they had gotten the guided tour. I was SO happy I read these reviews and did this one instead.

Best Harry Potter experience in the world
Christine_V, Aug 2023
My kids and I didn’t know what to expect when we booked this tour. To say it FAR exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studio self-guided tour would have been incredible, but having this VIP experience put the day over the top. Mason, our guide, was enthusiastic, funny, kind, and extremely passionate. He regaled us with stories from the productions because he was part of them. He also had special ability to walk behind the barriers and go into the set displays to show props to us. We learned so much insider information beyond what the self-guided tours could provide. We disembarked a 12-night cruise at 6:30 a.m. to make it to this, and it was the highlight of our two-week trip. My kids - 15, 13, and 10 - were also the perfect ages for the experience. In short, if you are a Harry Potter fan and you want to splurge on the studio tour experience, this is the excursion for you. Ask for Mason - he is the best!
Very good but not exceptional
Maria_B, Aug 2023
Ines our private guide was exceptional, I highly recommend it. The only draw back was the return home. They should provide a front of the line bus queue for VIP guest, we were in line for half an hour under the heat of the sun!!! After paying for so much, they should have escorted us to the first available bus to bring us back to the train station. Under than that, it was very special and enjoyable 👍
Best way to see the tour!!
Brenda_S, July 2023
Georgia was a great guide. We had a small group of 5 people and that was great. Georgia told us all kinds of things that we did not know about the making of the movies that we wouldn’t have gotten to know if we were going through on our own. Best experience and highly recommend!
Outstanding tour, plan for extra time after the formal tour, minor issues only
Christopher_L, July 2023
Best way to do the studio tour if you can afford it. Transport could be a little more organized for the return trip, but that is trivial in comparison to the good parts. We met our guide at the specified location - both the location and the guide were easily found. We we’re given wristbands for the tour, and train passes for both the outbound and return trips. At departure time, we followed the guide to the train. It seemed like he was able to get us through without anyone caring much about the train passes at the gate - one of the agents just opened up the gate and waved us through. The guide rode with us and escorted us off the train to the pickup for the WB tour pickup point where we boarded a double-decker which took us to the studio. Upon approaching the entry point, the guide retrieved and distributed entry tickets, and then we passed through security and met our official WB tour guides and the City Wonders guide departs. Our overall group was 16, and divided into 2 groups of 8. After brief introductions, you are taken into a staging area and an short theater experience where they show clips and explain the rules. The tour guides take you through back passages and put you at the front of the queue. When you exit the theater bit, you quickly end up in the Great Hall, and the magic really begins. Important things to know: Your guide is not going to show you everything in the tour - that would probably take at least twice as long. You will bypass things that seem “important” - our guides did ask about what the characters and scenes that were most important to us, and did make a point to mention items along the way. What you do get is a lot more deeper dives into many aspects of the costumes, props, makeup, and production. You will see a lot of “hero” items/sets/etc up-close and personal. You will get to see and photograph an amazing array of materials. Once you get to the next item, you basically form a semi-circle next to the guide, and they will go through the item(s) before moving on. There were a few times where other guests tried to break in but it seemed they were discouraged quietly and politely by other WB tour staff. There are a few places where you don’t skip queues for some of the sets, but the waits were brief and allowed for more info from the guides. Before you know it, two hours have passed and it’s time for an hour break at the Back Lot eatery. There is food and butterbeer/butterbeer ice cream - the queues were long but moved fast. Then comes the second half of the tour. Our experience ran a little long, ending roughly 4:30. You then have the option of exiting the tour to hit the gift shop and go home, or to re-enter the tour on your own to his the things that you missed. Because you will have skipped things along the way, you will want to re-enter. It would have been easy to spend another 2-3 hours there, but we had to cut it short because of dinner plans. The shop on the way out is ***extensive*** with quite a few exclusive items and a fair amount of personalization possible if desired. It’s easy to blow an hour or more browsing, and the check-out queue was really the longest one of the day. Once you leave, things are a bit more free-form. I think it would be helpful for the City Wonders guide to explain what we are supposed to do with the train pass a little more thoroughly for the return trip (since he essentially got us waved through on the outbound leg). You join the queue for the shuttle bus back to Watford station, and the supposedly leave at least every 30 mins. We missed one bus that left full shortly after we arrived. There was a wait of about 15-20 mins, then two buses arrived back to back. Upon arriving at the station, you basically have to do the getting back on your own. It seemed that people were having difficulty using the train passes, but the the agents just started waving people through. Like the tube, you swipe in before boarding at Watford and swipe out on leaving Euston- they really didn’t seem to care. I think they have so many tourists to WB that it’s not really worth their time to fuss about the “proper” procedures. Overall, the experience was outstanding and we would highly recommend - especially because the guided tours booked directly through WB tend to sell our far in advance (at least for the summer - Mid July was sold out at the beginning of February).. I would also recommend budgeting at least another 2-3+ hours to revisit the things you missed or want to see more of. This also includes the interactive/photo-op areas which you almost entirely skip during the guided part of the tour. Our WB guide Gregg was outstanding. He had been working there nearly 5 years as an employee, and had visited as a fan a number of time previously. We had a trainee tagging along on our tour, and it seems like their training is fairly expensive - and the degree of fandom inherent to the people doing this work is fairly high. I don’t think there were any questions our guide couldn’t answer. The only other thing worth noting is that there were a series of labour actions going on during our stay affecting train and tube services. I had asked a question of City Wonders about contingency plans if a strike was to affect the rail service and never got a direct answer. The autoreply gives the standard bit about high volumes of messages and discourages phone calls. In any case, by the time we departed for London it appeared clear this was not going to be an issue, but set your communications expectations accordingly.
Fantastic day!

Perfect tour from start to finish. Transportation was quick and easy. Tour was amazing. Tour guide extremely knowledgeable. Got busier later in the day and line to ride shuttle bus back to train station was very long.

This information is made transparent to all customers before they proceed with their purchase to avoid any misunderstandings. While we empathize with your situation, we must adhere to our policy regarding non-refundable tickets. Nonetheless, we would like to express our genuine concern for your well-being and sincerely wish you a speedy recovery from Covid-19.
