Poor audio narration
Kyndall_P, Aug 2023
The audio commentary did not work well. Music would play for long stretches (instead of commentary) as we passed very important landmarks. At other times, the commentary would play for landmarks that we were not passing. The driver said the GPS wasn't working properly. It was quite disappointing. Other than the narration, the bus ride was fine and the staff was friendly and mostly helpful.
No value
debbiemorcutt, July 2023
No value here, hardly any buses running so we waited over 1/2 hour. Worst hop on hop bus I have ever been on 😢
Hope for a live tour guide
Ryan_E, July 2023
We rode two different buses/routes. The first had pre-recorded tour information which kept getting interrupted throughout the route. On the second route we had a live tour guide which was significantly better.
Wonderful 2 hours
Pamela_H, June 2023
The tour guide was sensational..sorry didn't get his name.. Everything I hoped to see I did.. It was a fantastic experience
Save your money, wish I had
Sherry_S, June 2023
Not what expected. There was no commentary about any area we were in. This was nothing more than a very expensive bus ride. We could have taken the city bus and saved our money. Operators were friendly and answered any questions but that’s it. The headphone jacks did not work.
Look elsewhere
Gina_L, June 2023
The good is the employees were very nice and polite. The bad is the company needs more buses on the routes. We waited 30 min for the orange line bus. The pre-recorded audio didn't match the location where we were. I would refer you to a company with the red buses. They were all over London with lots of buses!
Rip off
Thomas_F, June 2023
Poorly marked stops, just in traffic the whole time. Staff was not friendly. Whole experience was not worth the money.
Loved the fact that the...
Lucia_W, May 2023
Loved the fact that the hop on hop off covers the most iconic places in London. The little map that is provided gives you an idea what is coming next. Just beautiful 🤩
Great trip!
Mark_A, May 2023
We had a great time exploring London on the bus. Great narration and very good drivers. It was easy to find a bus once we figured out where the stops were.
Wet Day
Patricia_C, Mar 2023
Very difficult to find bus stop near our hotel and had to walk a long way initially... Unfortunately even our hotel concierge gave us wrong info and they were promoting Circle Tours.... But it was a cold wet day with a few snowflakes as well but we kept dry and reasonably warm on the top of the bus. Found the bus drivers were very friendly and helpful. Disappointed that it was difficult to get good shots of the major attractions that we passed tho.
Unreliable
Kim_M, Jan 2023
We got off at the Trafelga stop and did some sight-seeing…. The bus never returned and we waited at the stop over an hour- total waste of our precious time!
Not reliable and very confusing
Liz_O, Dec 2022
The route was good but communication was terrible we waited at a bus stop for an hour and twenty minutes we rang for information and we were mislead. The drivers didn’t seem to know the routes and the map was confusing so we ended up getting a tube back to our start point.
Hospitality at it’s best!
Elizabeth_M, Aug 2022
We had 24 hour Hop On Hop Off London bus tickets for a particular day.. Due to slow traffic on the M4, we got into London later than expected. We got to the last bus of the day just in time. The ticket taker let us on, but told us we could activate it within a day of the date. He let us ride, but told us to activate it the next day so we got a full day! Everyone was so very nice each time we rode, all I had to do was show the Viator ticket, and they just waved us on. We were given free earphones for the commentary. Seats were fairly comfortable both on top and bottom of the bus. You do have to watch the map carefully, as the stops are not announced or displayed.
A. Modest experience.
William_Q, Aug 2022
Nothing. Blue line had a tour guide who mumbled and we couldn't understand him. Redline had no to her guy at all!
You don't always get what you want
DawneMarie_E, July 2022
The tour operators were very personable and friendly. The tour, itself, was not what we expected. The bus was not air conditioned and we were in a heat wave at 36 C. The audio recording was out of sync as to what we were passing by. I suppose, they figured we wouldn't notice that, since we were tourists. At the very least, they should have welcomed their guests on their bus, ran through what was to be expected and shown their appreciation that we had booked with their company. Not impressed. I have experienced many much better organized bus tours.
London Tour
TheresaDavidson, June 2022
The tour is fine, you get to see all of the sites, but they do not have enough busses on the road. For every one Golden Tours bus, there were three to four of each of the other similar tour busses, and the wait for a Golden to pick you up can take well over an hour.
Almost a scam!! Don't Take it!
MaraIgnacia_A, Apr 2022
inglés (EE.UU.) A very bad experience! The audio guide did not work on the first bus, on the second bus the audio guide was totally out of sync with what we were seeing. Very rude drivers and the staff was never able to help us. We consider it almost a scam, I do not recommend it, do not waste your money!!!!
Want my $$$$ back
Michael_R, Mar 2022
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! Bus did not have a person on a speaker announcing anything. You have to ask for these headphones but the headphones were not in sync with where we actually were! Asked the driver if I’m going crazy or if the headphones are talking about different landmarks than we actually were passing by and he sheepishly admitted to me they were out of sync. I stayed on for maybe 10 minutes and did my own thing.
A lovely way to see London!
Katherine_B, Feb 2022
Fantastic tour of London. Definitely the best way to see all the famous landmarks. The tour guide really made it for us…’Anna Banana’ (Spanish) was so knowledgeable, engaging and included everyone on the bus. She was really good fun!
Dire
Stephen_J, Aug 2021
None...confusing as to where we got picked up...which routes we were on...sometimes weren't even given the opportunity to get off bus at landmarks
