Board your coach in central Lucerne for the scenic journey south to Engelberg, departing in the afternoon. On arrival at this picturesque resort town situated in a valley below Mt Titlis, your guide accompanies you inside the aerial cableway for a 45-minute ride to the glacier’s 10,000-foot (3,020-meter) summit.
Take in dramatic views of the snowy Bernese Alps through panoramic windows, then disembark at the mountaintop for roughly two hours of free time. Perhaps start with a visit to Glacier Cave to see ice crystals in the frozen underground grotto. Admire the glacial landscape from the rotating Titlis Rotair gondola, which affords 360-degree views, or crunch along the snow on the Cliff Walk for vertigo-inducing vistas. You can gaze down at the icy depths from the Ice Flyer chairlift and hop on a snow tube at Titlis Glacier Park for downhill thrills (May–October). Admission to each acclaimed glacier attraction is included, weather permitting.
If the brisk mountain air makes you feel hungry, replenish at one of several restaurants at the summit (own expense).
At the prearranged time, meet your guide for the descent back to Engelberg where your coach is ready to return to Lucerne. Your tour then concludes in Lucerne Old Town.

Just being able to go up the side of that mountain and enjoy the view...I wasn't scared at all...our guides Laris and trainee Ambisa were wonderful and we can't forget Antonio the driver...this was the most favorite excursion I have taken...don't miss the opportunity to do this...we were very fortunate we had a beautiful day...there are no words to explain the beauty that God created...no words to explain just beautiful

Our guide, Michelle, was excellent. On the way up to Mt Titlis she shared interesting information about the region.
Mt Titlis was BEAUTIFUL! We have great pictures!

Must see if you are anywhere nearby! The views are spectacular. Tour made it easy to get there and back with plenty of time to explore.

Having previously seen Mt Pilatis we found Mt Titlis much more scenically interesting. The Gondola experience was scintillating. Our Guide was extremely caring at the top whe re my wife had some difficultly walking thru the ice and snow. I enjoyed the experience on the Ice Flyer.
Beware of Group Size in This Tour!

Fun day excursion but VERY packed. Viator advertised this tour to have a max of 45 people. A double decker bus pulled up already 3/4 full, apparently coming from Geneva. We were loaded and unloaded like cattle. Sights were beautiful at the mountain, so you don’t mind being surrounded by people and packed in a bus and then cable cars, you’ll have a nice time. Pretty disappointed that they lied about the max group size, thiugh.

Mount Titlis is a very popular destination in summer and it can sometimes get crowded. While our tour is operated regularly with a 48 seater, in high season, we sometimes allocate a bigger bus to fulfill the demand of this tour. In this case, we accommodate two guides to take care of all guests in the best way possible and always having the quality standards we strive for as a priority.
Again we are sorry for the inconveniences that this may have caused but we are happy to hear that you were still able to enjoy our tour and the beautiful sights at the mountain and hope you had a nice rest of your stay in Switzerland.

I would research and see if you can do this trip on your own for less money. Really, it was a bus ride to the ticket center for Mt. Titlus. There we waited about 15-20 minutes for our guide to purchase the tickets. I think we could have purchased them quicker as individuals. There was some commentary on the bus ride up but not a whole lot. We definitely enjoyed the day- there were breathtaking views, snow tubing, a walk across the suspension bridge and a ride on the Ice Glider. We were disappointed the Glacier Cave was closed and looked like it had been shut down for awhile. Another issue was on the conveyer belt to take you back up the hill after tubing- an older man in front of us stepped off the belt and dropped his tube. Luckily my husband was behind him, grabbed him and helped him the rest of the way up. If he hadn't, it would have been like dominoes and everyone on the belt would have been knocked down with their tubes and possibly hurt. In my mind, the woman monitoring this area, should have shut the belt down until the elderly man was off. It was a potentially dangerous situation. I think we should have researched first to see if it would have been cheaper to do this on our own.

We regret to hear that you felt this tour wasn’t worth your money. With other many individual guests and groups visiting this popular destination, the staff at the ticket counter may have some delay when giving out the tickets. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pre-book a specific time slot for groups hence our guests must queue with all other guests.
We are also sorry about the incident that occurred at the tubing hill, but please understand that this wasn’t our fault. Incidents like this may occur unexpectedly and the mountain staff is well prepared for this. Nevertheless, we will forward them your feedback so that they can consider it in the future.
Mt Titlis, like any other destination in Switzerland, can of course be visited individually. By public transport, it would cost CHf 80.80 one way and would involve taking a train and a bus only to reach the cable car station. The information provided by the tour guide during the bus ride about our country and culture and having someone to look after the group are the main reasons why our guests opt for a fully guided tour.
We hope the views from the Alps and the activities at the top of the mountain partly made up for the inconveniences and that you take beautiful memories from your stay in Switzerland.
