This activity will end right where it started.
The Maui Atlantis Submarine tour begins in Lahaina Harbor, where an open-air cruise brings you out to the dive site and sub. Transfer aboard the state of the art, air-conditioned submarine for an aquatic experience in search of wild marine life.

In 2005, an old whaling ship, the Carthaginian, was scuttled off of Lahaina, and today serves as an artificial reef for colorful coral and fish. Prior to its scuttling in 2005, this area was simply a sandy bottom with very little marine life, and today it houses indigenous fish and a vibrant coral reef.

In winter, from December-May, there’s even the chance of spotting whales on the journey out to the sub, and you never know if one might pay a visit while underwater!

  • Passengers must be capable of ascending and descending a near vertical ladder on their own to board the submarine
  • Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes
  • Children must be 36 inches or taller to ride the submarine
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Near public transportation
  • Infants are not permitted on the submarine.

The shipwreck was really cool, as well as the reefs. Many fish came right up to the boat and we saw rays and a shark as well. The sub went as far down as 130 feet.

Great experience! Very organized, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The submarine is spacious and well ventilated. You don't feel cramped or claustrophobic. We saw sharks, sting rays, a coral reef, and a sunken ship. We took our 8,7, & 4 year old and they did great and enjoyed it!

Fun and educational trip. The staff were professional but had a great sense of humor, we had Keo and she was fantastic. The guides do not bore you with excessive details but still highlighted everything we saw while making it fun and light hearted. We got to see many different species of fish as well as multiple sharks and even a manta ray! The submarine itself had a perfectly clear view despite a windy and cloudy day. I think anyone who left a bad review just genuinely weren't interested in nature so this tour clearly wasn't for them.
