What To Expect

Your lesson is held at Maui’s Breakwall Beach, located in Lahaina Harbor. This spot includes restrooms, lockers, lounge chairs, and showers and is the perfect place for families to sunbathe and relax before or after the surf class.

Your instructor provides you with paddling techniques and tips for catching waves and standing up. Enjoy some of the best surfing conditions in the world as you sit in the clear, shallow surf. Your instructor is also CPR and First Aid certified, as well as a trained lifeguard. Please note that private lessons are required for groups with surfers between the ages of five and eight.

After your adventure out on the waves has concluded, you may purchase photos of the lesson, if you wish.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

We have done surf lessons on the other islands….this is a great option for older kids.

They provide shirt and water shoes to protect your feet.

Would recommend taking the morning class when the water is much calmer for younger kids.

Great beginner waves at the location he took us! Tried to get all of us standing on the board as often as we can! The verbal instruction at the beginning felt a bit rushed and quiet from the instructor. Most of us couldn't catch what he was saying.

Booked the surf school for my 2 boys (13&16), and nothing but a amazing professional experience. Our instructor Baron was so fun and knew his stuff, as a professional surfer. Both boys rode their very 1st waves, and got up on each additional. So cool to see them having a blast. Owners are super chill and nice! I recommend this to anyone coming to Lahina!

I believe you have the wrong surf school. Even from the shop to the beach is not a quarter mile. The boards are either on the beach or in the truck which is right by the beach!!

We have never surfed before And I Would recommend this surf lesson for beginners. we went to shark fin cove which is very rocky but has good beginner waves. The instructor provided us boards, surf shirts and water shoes. We enjoyed the group lesson feel for our first time learning the basics.

Our family had a wonderful experience with Outrageous Surf School! The price was fair, the time frame (1.5 hours) was just right, and the instructor was incredibly encouraging. We had an amazing experience surfing with Outrageous Surf School. We received on land training and then headed out to the ocean. Our family of four caught at least 20 waves each. Both instructors were attentive and helpful providing instruction and encouragement to both our teen and us. I would totally book another surf experience with them.
