This was the best adventure my husband and I took during our trip to Maui. From the very beginning, our tour guide made sure to check that everyone signed their waivers. Gave us clear instructions where to board the Malolo and what to do onboard. The trip was informative and we loved learning more about the culture and the lands of Hawaii. We got to see whales and learned new things about whales thanks to our tour guide. The team made sure everyone felt safe, comfortable and the crew will be supervising and there to assist. I would definitely recommend to couples and families.

The snorkeling spot was super clear you could see all the way to the bottom but not really as good as Napili Bay. Loved the crew on the boat, what hard workers and pleasant. The captains info was informative but a little hard to hear though the speakers on the outside of the boat. All in all nice day!

Just a few kinds of fish. I could probably just find a spot to snorkel and see as much. This was my 4th time to snorkel and probably the worst in terms of amount of interesting ocean life.

Bait and Switch

We booked a trip on the Malolo to Molkini and Turtle Town approximately five weeks prior to our desired departure date. We received an email from the tour operator late in the day prior to our scheduled departure informing us that we had been “upgraded” to the Calypso. In our opinion, this was a “downgrade” and an attempt to cover the fact that the tour operator had chosen to overbook the Malolo (our preferred vessel). This became more evident when we pulled into Molkini and witnessed the boat we had booked (and were looking forward to) departing the Crater to make way for the behemoth Calypso and its eager throng of snorkellers. The capacity of the Calypso is more than double that of the Malolo. Our time spent snorkelling in a swarm of people was disappointing and not the trip that we had purchased and were anticipating. Rush hour and traffic jams in the water. Fins everywhere…it was definitely not the trip for our family. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add that every single staff member aboard the Calypso was excellent. Competent, smiling, humourous and helpful.

We originally booked on a smaller boat, which was my preference. Got a supposed 'upgrade' to a larger boat with more amenities. That is why this is not a 5 star rating....while I didn't like the higher # of people, the experience itself was awesome. Great snorkeling in both locations. Easy to get in and out of the water.....absolutly beautiful marine life and saw the turtles swimming. Crew was attentive and answered any/all questions. Food was pretty good for a snorkeling trip....and we really needed it! Would recommend and would book again.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on this snorkeling trip! We got upgraded to the boat Calypso and there was plenty of room and fun! The staff was super friendly and accommodating! They made sure everyone was comfortable and had all the gear they needed. The food was great and drinks were strong. The snorkeling itself was amazing seeing all kinds of fish and a few turtles. Would highly recommend for anyone!

On rare occasions, we have to reroute trips due to weather or sea conditions. Swell and wind direction are important safety considerations, and these elements can also affect snorkeling visibility. Our captains and crew are trained to make the best decision for the safety of all passengers and crew.
