What To Expect

Depart Melbourne in the morning via Westgate Bridge, the longest bridge in Australia, with sweeping views of the city and Port Phillip Bay.

Pass Geelong, Victoria’s second-largest city, as you make your way towards the Surf Coast known for lovely beachside towns and powerful surf. During a short stop in Anglesea, stretch your legs by strolling along the Anglesea River before continuing your scenic journey.

Soak in the breathtaking coastal scenery of the Great Ocean Road as you drive and during frequent scenic stops, including a photo op at Eastern View where the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch stretches over the road.

Have time to purchase lunch in Kennet River or Lorne. Afterward, take a walk through a wilderness refuge with eucalyptus trees that shelter wild koalas. Look for the koalas in the trees napping or munching on leaves—the large population of koalas virtually guarantees multiple sightings.

Continue by coach through the Otway Ranges to the Shipwreck Coast and Port Campbell National Park. There you see iconic rock formations starting with Loch Ard Gorge. Hear the story of the shipwreck at Loch Ard in 1878 and view other rock formations with amusing names such as Dumpling Pots, Razorback, and Island Archway. Then head to the Twelve Apostles before sunset to watch the sky change colors over the majestic rock formation.

On the return to Melbourne, expect a stop in the town of Colac for dinner (own expense).

Anglesea

Take a quick break in the idyllic seaside town of Anglesea, a favourite holidaying spot for locals due to its quiet atmosphere and stunning beaches.

Graeme was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely friendly and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the trip right from the beginning to the end and had a wonderful time.

The view on The Great Ocean Road was mesmerising. Our guide, Aaron, was both informative, cool and funny. The tour was really unforgettable.

Thanks so much for your review, Mohammed! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Great Ocean Road tour experience with us so much and that Aaron helped make your day a truly memorable one. Having experienced the Great Ocean Road day tour with us, we hope you might come back one day to try out one of our other Melbourne day trips such as our Phillip Island Penguin Parade tour, or perhaps our Yarra Valley tour! Don't forget we also operate memorable day trips from Melbourne to the Grampians National Park! Thanks again for your kind words & very best wishes for your onward journey.

Perfect weather at the perfect spot for the perfect sunset. A tour allows you being in the nature. Long trip but totally worth it!
Spectacular view

Highly recommend sunset tour. I have been to 12 apostle daytime as well but sunset is more spectacular and speechless! The guide, Joel was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I had good experience on this tour.
Impressive views the entire way
Kim_D, Mar 2020
I absolutely loved this sunset tour. Joel was our guide and he did a nice job telling us some of the history associated with the land marks. The 12 Apostles was a perfect finale to our trip. Sit on the left side of the bus for best views!
Wonderful!

We had a great time during the entire tour, especially at the Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles. The guide Corey was also very kind with very detailed explanations and good sense of humor. It was absolutely a wonderful experience full of lovely memories.
Beautiful sunset!

Stunning views, great guide...I am sorry I can't remember her name but it is the tall girl from Netherlands with an Aussie accent.
The best day trip ever
Marat_N, Mar 2020
This trip was amazing! The views were fantastic. Although the weather got worse by the end of the day and we couldn't enjoy the sunset in its brightest, it was totally worth it. Our guide Chris was incredibly helpful and provided us with all relevant facts, details and funny stories without being annoying or too much. Even the tunes that accompanied us in the car had carefully been chosen to correspond to the atmosphere of the exact place. It was definitely one of the best experiences in my life.

Great scenery, Glenn was a well informed and enthusiastic guide. Even with showers at sunset it was a breathtaking experience.
Long day but worth it
Frances_Janet, Feb 2020
We were the last to be picked up so had to squeeze into the back seats as the bus was full. Quite comfortable seats but sometimes struggled to hear some of the commentary. Weather not great but views still outstanding and enjoyed our pizza and fizzy wine picnic while waiting for the sunset. It was quite cold and breezy so would recommend layers and wind proof jacket,
good experience

Great! Well worth doing
Cheryl_O, Feb 2020
It was a fantastic laid back way to see The Great Ocean Road. Quite reasonably priced and your guide Sarah was really lovely. Own expense meals were really reasonable also, pizza for $11 and it was delicious. I felt we stopped at each place for enough time and covered lots of great places along the way. My only criticism was there was not enough leg room on the bus 😊

Took the Sunset at the 12 Apostols tour. Excellent with a great guide Felix. The pizza was a small pizza for 11 dollars. I bought a quiche from a small bakery we stopped and had the best chocolate chip cookies. The blueberry muffing was also very good.

Very scenic and relaxing trip with some amazing vistas of ocean and cliffs and rolling countryside. Driver/guide was friendly, organized and considerate and excellent and safe driver. Gave a great overall tour, but we would have appreciated some more in depth discussion of relevant history of Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road and this part of Australia.
Very interesting trip
Marta_B, Nov 2019
I loved the geological formation and see the sea in such brave way because of the weather.... Weather was terrible but Felix our guide did a a trip very enjoyable!!!

DUANE B, Nov 2019
The locations we saw were great. Our driver / guide was excellent and very accommodating. The tour company didn’t provide a comfortable enough bus for a 8 hour trip. Our trip ended up 13 hours due to picking up a microphone (that failed later), a detour past a highway accident and the bus engine acting up. Bigger busses with more room and reclining seats are required.
Great tour to void crowds

I guess you cannot go wrong by joining a Great Ocean Road tour. The day was long, but the views were worth it! Our guide James was excellent!
