What To Expect

Enjoy a spectacular start to the day on a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the Yarra Valley, just outside of Melbourne. Make your way to the Yarra Valley’s Balgownie Estate in the early morning, or enjoy pickup at your Melbourne CBD hotel (if upgrade is selected). Climb aboard a sturdy basket, which holds a maximum of 16 people. Experience the thrill as your hot air–powered balloon fires up in the crisp morning air and you begin to slowly rise over the countryside.

Float with the breeze over vineyards, country roads and orchards for an unbeatable view of the gorgeous landscape. On misty mornings, watch sunbeams play on layers of wispy clouds for an otherworldly experience. An expert guide accompanies you on the ride to ensure everyone’s safety and provide narration on the passing scenery.

Upgrade to include a hearty sparkling wine breakfast at Balgownie Estate's elegant restaurant for after you touch down. Toast your flight with Domaine Chandon sparkling wine and choose from a gourmet a la carte menu featuring hot and cold breakfast favorites served with orange juice, tea, and coffee.

Was wonderful time i had ..early morning we got pick up and then we can see the preparation for the baloon and this was so exciting thing till you flight and the scenery of Yarra was so great as well we can see all arround..great crew team as well and pilot by Pato such an amazing experience.

This was a 'must do in a lifetime' event for me! The experience was well run, efficient and I felt very safe and taken care of by a cheery and happy crew! (No small feat so early in the morning😉) Brian our pilot was excellent, he made it all feel so matter of fact. We got a rarer dip down nearer the tree tops to scan for koalas, alas not seen, but spectacular flying none the less! There is nothing like this experience, the sensation is truly unique! I appreciated learning new things about ballooning, and found participating in the set up and take down very interesting. I really appreciated that there was a downtown pickup and deliver back to the city, as having to arrive so early in the morning, I wouldn't have managed getting to the take off spot on my own. Breakfast afterward was a full on hot buffet and very tasty! Well done Global ballooning, my heartfelt thanks, I can now die happy! (Not that I'm expecting to yet)

It was an nice experience. The only thing which I would state as a downside is - we were asked to participate in folding up the baloon fabric. It was fun - but given that we had some showers through our flight, it also spoiled the jackets a bit. Otherwise it wss very nice flight. It was hard to hear the captain describe what were we flying through but the view was scenic.

The balloon ride flight was incredible. So peaceful. Started the day early drove to the starting point and helped with the set up of the balloon. There were 6 balloons in all. Once we got into the basket it was no time at all and we’re up soaring over the tree tops. Beautiful morning sunrise. The flight was about an hour. The breakfast was plentiful. It was great fun.

Best experience and amazing ride for my kids. Air balloon is their priority of Australia in this Christmas holiday , even though they wake up at 3 and drive for an hour to there. Great team work and brilliant pilot. We join in a Chinese group and everyone helps each other.Thanks all the teammates for making this best memory in children life.

This was a wonderful experience and the logistics were quite easy. The crew is energetic, kind and helpful in every way. Our pilot expertly steered our across the valley and provided great anecdotes as well. It was my first time doing a hot air balloon ride and I could not pick a more perfect location. It was peaceful and beautiful. The post-breakfast was delicious, and in the end, we had a full day ahead of us!

A perfect experience. Great weather helped certainly, as it must for the kind of experience ballooning is but the organisation, staff, equipment and pilot were first class. Our pilot Ronald was friendly and personable and clearly highly skilled, who took the time when asked to explain some of the airborne operation, playing with winds and altitudes and for that matter, answered all questions patiently and knowledgeably. Finished off with a decent breakfast at Balgownie. A wonderful and memorable experience.

This flight was the highlight of the Australian vacation. Our group had people in it with a fear of heights and they loved it as much as anyone. The experience is fun and serene and unique and wonderful. Bambi and Rain were our guides and ground crew and they were terrific.

Choloe is very prompt in replying our email and messages sent to them within an hour time. Flight was cancelled and was resceduled due to bad weather... however, they have keep us constantly updated on the latest weather condtion and flight updates... thumbs up for the effort!!

Rescheduling existing passengers is just as important as booking new passengers for the first time. Our time spent dealing with all customers is valuable and of high importance, and we understand (all too well) the disappointment when the weather is not safe to fly. Chloe and the rest of our office team are only more than happy to assist with accommodating you and other passengers onto your next preferred flight date. Being the largest hot air ballooning company in Victoria, this also means that there is not a long wait time between cancelled flights. Sometimes even the very next day you can go! Views were beautiful. Saw kangaroos and cows too. Breakfast was delicious. Only bad thing was Brian was not happy with his crew and he let everyone know about it. Not very professional. Didn't give enough time for everyone to turn around for pictures or to smile or get into a position where you could be seen in the pictures, but the views were spectacular!!!!

The views in the Valley are amazing, even better when you can see wildlife! Some mornings can be a bit tricky with timing and the weather to make sure that operations all runs smoothly. An experience of a lifetime - would denitely recommend to do it. Pilot was experienced and flight was smooth with amazing pictures taken along the way taken. Would have been 5 stars if not for the hiccup of pick up from hotel being late by almost 45mins
