    An absolute must do when visiting Mexico City

    Tolantongo was simply magnificent from the hot springs to the caves. The bat cave was definitely an incredible experience, and is something that I will be recommending to all those who visit Mexico! The crystal clear blue waters of the rivers and springs were so beautiful, and everything was extremely comfortable and well organized thanks to our guide Alex. He really took care of us. Absolutely loved Tolantongo!

    Thermal baths, river pools, food, caves and all round great experience. Lots of time to chat with other travellers. The only thing was our day started at 6am and finished at 10pm.

    My daughter and I wanted an adventure. We love being in natural settings and this experience was outstanding. The outing was well planned and made for a smooth trip. It’s a long day and so worth it. The Natural beauty was stunning.
    Wonderful Experience at Grutas Tolantango

    Even though it is an early start, the trip is well worth it. It took a little over 3 hours to get there but made stops along the way and were provided blankets for the ride. It is quite bumpy so be prepared that you may struggle getting sleep. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with plenty of options for different dietary preferences. The other pit stop gave us time to get some things at the store like water shoes, drinks, souvenirs, etc. Once we got to Tolantongo, we had a few hours to explore the pools and relax. There are more activities from there that you will have to go to experience yourself but there was plenty of time in between to relax and did not feel rushed. Be prepared for a full day and you will be able to see everything in a timely manner.

    Our guide, Danny, was awesome. The trip was well organized, with a good variety of experiences. I've travelled extensively and Tolantongo is one of the most special places I've ever seen. Highly recommend it!

    This was well worth having to wake up early and the long road trip it required. Tolantongo is beautiful and the river and caves were magical. A must see!! I love that they provide everything you need so you don't have to worry about anything except having fun. And the zipline made it all the more fun and adventurous. We also got to spend a good amount of time in each area so it didnt feel rushed. The guide and drivers were super sweet. The only thing that was rough for me was how bumpy and swirvy the ride was - my daughter and I got motion sickness a few times, but luckily I packed extra snacks and water and that helped. The breakfast wasn't the greatest quality food either, but I appreciated the stop and being able to get something in our tummies. They added well-planned stops that helped break up the long ride. Overall, it was an amazing experience to see Tolantongo.

    Alex, the tour guide, is fantastic. It’s a well organized tour that’s well worth taking a whole day for. The mineral springs are warm. My girlfriend and I had our own pool to ourselves. And the caves are breathtaking. Definitely recommend. The van ride IS bumpy though! If you have a bad back bring a cushion!

    This experience rocks! Our guide Daniel is an expert at organization and communication. He’s super personable and offers his guests an amazing experience. The drivers are very skilled and you are grateful that someone else is driving. The pools are so relaxing. Lunch next to the mineral lake was wonderful. The caves were so exciting and it’s hard to put into words what an experience it is to swim in them. The trip would be difficult at best to arrange yourself so I highly recommend this your group. You will not be disappointed. Kudos to Danny and the drivers for providing everything we needed for the trip and providing an opportunity of a lifetime.

    Alfredo & Alex was exceptional. Alfredo our driver kept us all comfortable and made sure we all had a great time!! He even made us in charge of the AUX Cord for music. Alex was a great tour guide, he knew his information and made the tour much more enjoyable. 100/10 ✨

    There are similar excursions like this one on VIATOR. This one cost a little more but take my word for it. Pay the extra. The host was very attentive. The trio was extremely organized which is very important to me. I loved the small details such as the backpacks provided. They definitely go the extra mile . Will definitely return

    A truly unique experience. We were a wonderful team. Everything was perfectly planned and the tour guide Alex was 10/10. One of the best trips while in Mexico. You get way more than you pay for. I also recommend going ziplining, which is optional.

    The hot spring, the river and cave experience was amazing! Anyone comes to Mexico City should take a day trip to Tolantongo to see this place. It is unique and fun for all age group. My husband is 68 and I am 62. We both tried everything except the zipline. We were very happy with our tour guide lady. She was so helpful and took good care of us. The only thing we wish to improve was the vehicle. With the bumpy and winding road, we wish they could provide us a better van with more comfortable seats and more legroom and better shock absorption system. We travel a lot and never had car sick issues. But this time, we were not feeling good. But, it was recovered as soon as we got off the van and got some fresh air.

    This excursion can seem overwhelming knowing it’s a 10+ hour day and all the driving, but they did a great job of breaking it all up so it didn’t feel that long. The pools were very cool, and there are so many to choose from. The river was so much warmer than anticipated and I could have stayed in there all day. And the caves/waterfalls were straight out of Avatar, which was my favorite part. Met some great people and Tania was so nice and accommodating to all our needs. Would definitely y recommend everyone taking this tour.
