Its less than an hour away from Mexico City, great history, awesome to climb the pyramids and then go to La Gruta (the cave restaurant) for lunch.

Because it was a private tour, we were picked up at our hotel which was important because the trip began at 7:00am.

Started our Teotihuacán private tour from entrance #1. As we continue walking towards the Avenue of the Dead the views only get better and better. Our guide Claudia was very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule from start to finish. We opted for the Spanish speaking tour and it didn’t disappoint. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Covered is best due to the ants, vegetation growth during rainy season. Also bring water and perhaps a hat. Our lunch stop was great. Cold beverages and clean accommodations. Mole and rice was tasty.

A++ Tour of Teotihuacan

We had the best tour of Teotihuacan. There were 10 family members - with children as young as 2. Pick-up and drop-off was directly at our AirBnb location in Condesa. The van was clean and comfortable. The tour guides were extremely friendly and knew so much of the history of Teotihuacan. It was a great experience. The schedule was also flexible, allowing us to stop for coffees in the morning and fresh fruit on our way home.

Ernesto was wonderful! The tour of Teotihuacan was even better than I imagined. There were things there I did not know were there. Ernesto was thorough and a great guide! He shared wonderful informative about the long history of the area. He explained the cultural, religious and economic history as well. I highly recommend this private tour over any bus tour crammed with tons of people. Arriving early was also a major plus! Very few people were there when we arrived. I was able to take many photographs. Thank you for the wonderful memories. If you’re lucky enough to get Ernesto as your guide, you will not be disappointed! Hasta luego.

This was an amazing tour of Teotihuacan. Gerardo was a wealth of information, and had a kind, friendly presence making the information accessible and interesting to our 7 and 9 year olds. He had such an excitement about the area and shared his knowledge in a very engaging way. We loved getting to see the pyramids and learning about the underground spaces in the walk leading up to the Pyramid of the Moon. As far as logistics were concerned, we appreciated that Gerardo asked us if we’d prefer to just go back to the city to grab lunch and to skip the obsidian workshop, which were things that made sense for our crew. Communication with the company was great from the very start when we first bought tickets. The company followed up the day before our tour and then the morning of, we received a text about an hour prior to our hotel pickup, and then when the van was outside. I’m a person who is often a little wary of tour situations, preferring to explore areas on my own. I never would have learned what I learned on this tour that way and it was a very enjoyable situation, so I’m very glad we did it. Top notch. :) Highly recommend!

This was a excellent five star tour! Our guide and driver, Pepe, were very professional. I cannot say enough about our tour guide. As a professor and current PhD student, he knew so much about everything. I learned so much about our tour. I highly recommend this experience. Great tour with Ernesto to the wonderful ancient city of Teotihuacan. Early start to beat the heat and crowds and then a walk around the cities to see the temples and residences of the city. Actually three cities one built on top of the next. Finished with lunch at La Gruto which was a unique dining experience in a grotto. Ernesto was a great guide

We had an absolutely amazing time during our tour with Monse. From pickup to drop off and everything in between, Monse was kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. We’ve done many tours in various countries around the world, and few guides go out of their way to educate you the way that she does. This was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City! Our only recommendation is to bring your walking shoes and water - as the site is even larger than you might imagine.

Absolutely fabulous private tour with Tekpan Tours. I traveled with my 2 grown children to Teotihuacan in a private car driven by our guide Frank. Communication with Tekpan was seamless, and Frank showed up on time in front of our apartment. On the way we picked up snacks and water, and discussed history, culture and art. Frank was an outstanding guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and gracious, he presented information clearly and concisely both about the history and nuances of the culture. He was patient with our questions and photo stops as well. We ended up having a rich and relaxed experience -- it was a perfect day and a highlight of our trip.
