For this reason, pick up times are shown as an interval “Starting from 6:00” means that we will pick up you at your hotel at 6:00 or after in order to be in time for the beginning of the tour.

What To Expect

Meet your guide at the Milan Visitor Center (Largo Cairoli 18), for this Cinque Terre day trip. Board a comfortable air-conditioned coach, and enjoy time to relax as you take in the stunning scenery outside your window. Listen as your guide shares facts, history, and highlights of the UNESCO-listed Cinque Terre. Discover new information about the five distinct villages that make up this coastal destination stationed on the Mediterranean Sea.

Right before lunch, catch the train to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of Cinque Terre’s five villages. Upon arrival, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the pedestrian tunnel, cafes, beaches, and squares on your own. Enjoy lunch (own expense) at one of the numerous local restaurants.

From Monterosso, hop aboard a boat for a 90-minute cruise. Take in the views of the Italian Riviera from the sea until you reach La Spezia. Re-board your comfortable coach back on land for the return trip to Milan.

This place was my main draw to Milan as I knew we could do a day trip there and it was worth every minute! It was a long way to get down there but the scenery was lovely and Cinque Terre did not disappoint in the least!! It was everything I had dreamed of and more from the pictures. Definitely go to the restaurant they recommend at the hilltop for lunch and have the pesto! Some of the best in my life with an incredible view! The water was so enticing, my husband jumped in clothes and all! Definitely book this one!

I enjoyed the visit to the two villages although not enough time in either. The headsets were rubbish as there was white noise throughout the info give. On the whole it was a nice snap shot of Cinque Terre.

Beautiful day trip! Bring your bathing suit, you may have time to enjoy the water. The restaurants are busy, it may take over an hour to get food. However, food is delicious. Our tour guide was wonderful. It was a large group, but she always checked in with everyone, and was very helpful. A bit of walking and stairs, but you will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed everything about this trip from the clean and comfortable bus (wonderful bus driver as well), our informative guide and the beautiful route we took to get to Cinque Terre! Our time spent in Cinque Terre was well planned with plenty of time to explore at our stops. Beautiful!!!! We could not return by boat due to the quick change in weather and appreciate that safety is top consideration. We returned by train which was perfectly fine.

Waste of precious time- saw very little of Cinque Terre

The bad review is due to the fact that on this 14 hour ( 6:45 am -20:45pm) day trip, you spend 4 hours on a bus getting there and 4 hours back. We had 30 minutes free time in Manarola and 2 hours 30 minutes in Monterosso. That is 3 hours in total, the rest is travelling. The sea was also too rough so we could not do the boat part and had to take the train back to La Spenzia, where we had to walk 30 minutes to find the bus, to take us to Milan. The tour operator tried her best and gave us valuable information about Italy on the 4 hour trip to Cinque Terre but the 4 hours back in silence and heavy traffic was pure torture. Milan is too far from Cinque Terre for a day trip by bus.

Worst Experience Ever

This was not a tour, it was a full day of taking public transport with 75 people to Cinque Terre and back to Milan. We saw zero, nothing. We went to Manorolo not to tour it but to take a public train, then to take a public ship to La Spezia. Again, this was NOT a tour. The bus was freezing cold and we all got sick. The guide Eddy was selfish and passive aggressive and provided horrible experience. In Monterosso he took us to a underground restaurant where we suffocated. Waste of money and time! What a shame!

The screaming babies on the bus and the delays we had waiting on that family to load and unload strollers and car seats. Even the guide was getting a little irritated. Cinque Terre was beautiful. This tour only allows for stops at two of the cities but they more than made up for it with the boat ride. Definitely worth it!

Worth it if you only have a short time in the region

Things that were great: meet up location was easy to find, convenient. Buses were comfy, train and boat tickets ready, and most importantly-the areas we visited were stunningly beautiful. Not great: The time one gets at each stop is quite short, which is to be expected on these day trip style outings. But definitely if you have time I would recommend a longer stay. Our guide was reasonably informative and efficient but decidely aloof and not engaged in a personal way.

Excellent trip. Nice villages, delicious food, comfortable bus, train and a boat ride. We had time for everything. Shopping locally made merchandise, trying their signature food (the best pesto sauce in Monterosso) and drinks and a swim in Ligurian sea!
