This place is Beautiful. I dont mind visiting this place again with my kids and I know they will love it. The ambience is so pretty. Taking the private cruise is awesome. Food is great. My tour guide Sara is very nice. Very organized tour.

The guide was terrible. Supposedly she was speaking English but none of us could understand her. The little bit we did understand did not provide facts or information of substance. Bus driver was good.

According to the tour description and also on our reservation, we were supposed to stop at Varenna but the tour director, Andrea, said that, since it was a Sunday, we had to stop at Menaggio instead. We were really looking forward to seeing Varenna so we were upset. Andrea said that Viator gave us the wrong information.

Lake Como is beautiful and the towns are nice to visit. However , the boat cruise is not private.. it is obviously with your group that you travel with. Our guide was great and it’s a must visit for the landscape

My family and I took the Lake Como Bernina Red Train tour on Tuesday May 16th and I wanted to reach out as while the tour was great the guide was very disrespectful and I did not want to leave a review on Viator before reaching out. I stopped by the office in Milano on Wednesday May 17th, but no manager was available. The lady at the desk was very apologetic bur mentioned she can't comment and Sara is very senior. She asked me to write an email to booking email address. Review: This tour attempts to include alot of highlights within 1 day and is well organized for the most part. However, this tour is not accommodating for families with young kids. my booking consisted of 2 adults, a 4 year old (which almost costs as much as adult), and a 9 month old (who was free). We were the only travelers with any kids. Pros: The pickup location was convenient and soon we had a large amount of people that had booked the tour from various platforms waiting. Tour starts by driving up to Lake como with a quick rest stop on side of roadway. As you approach Lake Como the views on the right hand side of the bus are amazing as it wraps down to the base. The boat ride was a decent length (almost full hour) and views are scenic all around as you reach Bellagio. Bus ride upto St. Moritz seemed a bit longer than the advertised hour but as you ascend/snake through impossible turns, the the views are great but once again I would recommend you to sit on the right side. Time in St. Moritz was just under an hour which made it a bit tight but we were able to taste test Ladarach Chocolates (amazing) and grab a quick bit to eat (which was just ok and very overpriced - 20 SwissFrancs for Cucumber and Hummus. Bernina Express Train ride was easily the most anticipated part of this tour and it lived upto it. And guess what ... the right side has the best views by far. Bus ride home was quiet as we were all exhausted. Cons: Our guide (Sara) would give great length details in Spanish (luckily my wife is fluent in Spanish); however, you may miss some information when she recaps in english. Sara refused to give a headset to our 4 year old as he's only a kid (yet we paid almost full price for his seat). Without a headset he would ask us alot of the questions as he was feeling left out and would speak while Sara was speaking which annoyed her. She told my wife to keep him quiet. We ended giving one of our headsets to our 4 year old. Our 9 month old son did not love all the turns and jerks of the bus and cried during the descent to lake como and ascent to St. Mortiz. During these occasions we quickly made molke and were able to put have him feed and/or sleep to minimize disturbance for other travelers. All in all around 5-10 minutes each time. Sara made it clear she was not pleased. Majority of the passengers loved our kids and took pictures and played with him during the stops... however, as we can off Bernina Express and I went to put back out Stroller... Sara berated my wife and stated, "It is not our fault you and your husband decided to have kids". And then proceed to tell my wife I want your family to move to the back and not hear a word out of you. When I found my wife in literal tears I wanted to leave the group.... but my wife stopped me as we were in another country and did not know when next train would arrive as schedule is limited. Of course this is the time my 4 year old mentions he has to use the bathroom... yet we have a 3 hour ride home. As Sara made it clear we will not stop I had to suggest options of putting a diaper and or peeing in our water bottle to a 4 year old. Luckily we were able to get his mid off with some activities on our ipad. Multiple families came to us and apologized for Sara's behavior and attributed it to a cultural thing... however, it did not take away the fact that she attempted to degrade us and felt we were somehow not paying our share. Conclusion: All in all alot of things covered but guide ruined our experience and we tried immensely hard to not let it get to us as it was our first day in Milan.

Beautiful Lake Como but somewhat disappointed with overall tour

Ambitious itinerary however Lake Como is spectacular. Unfortunately we did not get to Varenna as we were told that a landslide prevented us from going there. Varenna was the highlight of our trip so we were very disappointed that an attempt to ferry us there was not made. We went to another small town that didn't even come close to the beauty of Varenna. We expected a refund of some sort but didn't happen. Claudia was a bit of an absent tour guide as she was on her phone most of the time, perhaps at another job??? Fabio, our driver was incredible at navigating the very narrow roads around the lake!! Beautiful part of the world, but more info about the areas we were in would have been appreciated.

The view at La Punta where the 3 legs of the lake converge was the highlight of the trip. The bus departed 15 min late. We had a little time in Mennagio. The tour guide said we were stopping here instead of Varenna which was very disappointing. Of the 8 tours we booked while in Italy, this was the only one we regretted. Cemented our distaste of large bus tours.

The tour was too early in the day to visit Lake Como village/city because you get there at 9:30am and leave at 11:30am, so none of the shops are open yet. The only thing to do is eat and visit the churches. It would be better if the tour started later and ended later in the day. The tour guide was horrible and most of this “English” tour was in Spanish. The guide’s accent was so strong and shifting to Spanish with a strong Italian accent that it was almost impossible to understand him. DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR IF YOUR A ENGLISH SPEAKING TOURIST OR WANT TO SHOP IN LAKE COMO!!! It was a waste of money!

Trip includes bus to Menaggio, ferry cross the lake to Ballgio, an hour of private boat tour in the lake, back to Como, visited the villa and city center. A pretty full day agenda and seeing as much as I expected. Truly a great choice for a day trip!

This is the second time I do this tour. I came last year with part of the family and then again with the rest of the family this year. Having had a tremendous experience the first time, I had to do it again. Although the itinerary changed a bit this year, seeing the breathtaking views of the Alps and discovering various towns along Lake Como was fantastic. Our tour guide, Simone, was very informative and courteous throughout the tour.

We had a short time in Maggiano then a boat ride to Bellagio and lunch , shopping , had time to walk around and take pictures before boat ride around the lake. The views were amazing , it was wonderful. We spent a little time in Como however had time to eat and see the magnificent cathedral. Excellent tour and use of time.
