Jason is a great guide. I spent two mornings with him. The first day we went to Curi-cancha reserve. He knows all the bird calls and was excellent at spotting them and putting the scope on them so I could have a good look. We saw about 50 species that day. He finished by circling back to a tree where he thought there would be something special and were rewarded with spectacular views of the Resplendent Quetzal. The second morning was a trip to San Luis Finca Ecologica where we saw even more species. Jason took the time to find birds and has a relaxed and easy-going manner. I highly recommend a tour with him.

Jason was a great guide, fully recommend him if you want to have a nice experience in Curi Cancha and want to see beautiful Costa Rican birds! You can feel on him that he loves & respects the nature and his enthusiasm is contagious :) He was really friendly with us, shared interesting facts not just about birds, but other inhabitants of the reserve. I think we were lucky to see every beautiful must-see bird with the help of him. This was one of the best experiences for us in Costa Rica, thank you!

The perfect birdwatching experience

Jason was an expert tour guide and birder. We had an amazing experience and saw so many beautiful birds. We started the day as absolute novice birdwatchers and felt confident in our ability to spot birds by the end of the tour. We hope to one day be as knowledgeable about birds as Jason!

Fantastic Birding in Curi-Cancha

Birdwatching in Curi-Cancha with Jason was fantastic! He has a great ear and was able to identify every sound we heard in the forest. He was also amazing at spotting birds high up in the canopy I never would’ve seen and quick to set up the scope so we could get a good view. We saw 46 species of birds on this hike along with a family of white faced monkeys, a bunch of Coatis, an Agouti, and some lizards, not to mention all the beautiful trees and flowers. Overall this was a wonderful experience and when I get back to Costa Rica I will be looking up Jason for another tour!

Our guide Jason is very pleasant and knowledgeable about birding. We were so pleased to see a different species of birds especially the most beautiful quetzal.
