What To Expect

Meet your guide at your hotel prior to your selected morning or afternoon departure time and head to a private reserve and adventure park, located just minutes from downtown Monteverde. Your tour begins in the primary, old-growth section of the cloud forest and moves to the newer secondary forest, offering a broad perspective of life cycles in the forest.

Start your trip with a zipline tour over the canopy, providing a heart-pounding view of the cloud forest below. Then, rappel 150 feet down to the forest floor. A ladder system through the hollow core of an old tree brings you back up into the treetops, and an optional Tarzan swing free-fall experience brings you back down.

Guides accompany you through every step of the adventure to ensure your safety and entertainment, as well as to answer questions about the local ecosystem.

Get dropped off back at your hotel or other specified drop-off location in Monteverde at the end of your adventure.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

A great adventure!

We had so much fun on this canopy tour! The guides are so fun and funny which made for an even better experience. They have so many different activities from a tarzan swing, to zip lines, to repelling. The views the entire time are breathtaking and we saw howler monkeys just hanging out near us on one of the podiums. Some of the zip lines were really long and high which makes for some fun adventure! You can tell safety is important to them and at no point did we feel unsafe. They take photos the entire time which makes for some hilarious memories

The best canopy zip lining!

The Original Canopy Tour was such a Great Experience. All the zip lines are literally from one tree to the next and not climbing tours. The views and the experience in the jungle and greens were incredible. Our guides were Daniel and Brian. They made you feel so comfortable, so nice explaining everything. The kids loved the zip lines, Tarzana swing, raping and of course climbing the tree! Would highly recommend.

Easy tour and family friendly

Fun day feeling like Tarzan!

We decided to make the most of our travel day back to San José by stopping at Monteverde for a 2 hour canopy tour. The tour was great for both my husband and I and our daughters (age 6 and 8). The guides were very helpful and accommodating to our girls. Despite the extreme nature of ziplining, we felt safe and secure at all times, even when waiting on platforms high up in the trees. We had a great time and we definitely will go back again in the future.

Sergio and Joseph were amazing! I was hesitant about doing this but they made me feel so comfortable! Joseph came and got me from the farthest zip line when I got stuck which wasn't easy to do. Pictures were great! Entire experience was amazing!

most amazing staff and great experience

We had an absolutely amazing time on this excursion, especially because of the amazing staff members that make you feel so welcomed and made us all laugh so much (whether we were scared or not). The staff put in so much effort to know each person's name after only a single introduction to make the experience so personal. We even had our 2pm booking get cancelled after we had barely gotten started due to lightening (they watch the storm monitor and make sure it is safe before allowing each activity) but we got it rescheduled the next morning (for no extra charge) along with free hotel pick up and drop off both times. It truly was amazing and an extra shout out to staff members Greivin, David, and Sergio for making sure we all had a great experience!

A great way to see the cloud forest from the canopy!

I had great memories of this tour from 2001 when I was exploring Monteverde. I wanted my children to experience the thrill as well. I was so excited to see that the company was still in business! The best experience in Monteverde

We had an amazing 5 star experiences, the guides were all really great, kept us safe and were so fun and entertaining! We went at 2pm and it unfortunately started to thunder and we were not able to finish the course. However, the guides kindly let us come back very early the next morning to complete it before our shuttle out of Monteverde. We had the best time and would thoroughly recommend to everyone

As someone who is afraid of heights, I really enjoyed this tour! We did 8-9 ziplines, a Tarzan swing and a rappel/rope ladder climb. It’s beautiful and fun. I really loved our guides. They all have been doing this for a long time (10+ years) and even built many of the platforms used to start and land. My favorite part was getting to know the guides and the fellow zipliners, it was a really fun group and everyone was cheerful and encouraging!

Amazing and thrilling experience

Definitely one of the scariest things I have done in my life! The zip lines themselves were amazing and especially the last two as you flew over the jungle with amazing views of the the landscape and rainbow! What scared me the most was the Tarzan swing and climbing up the hallow tree and very steep, narrow ladder to the next platform. This is optional and one I would never do again. It was wet, windy and steep and I was terrified and I like heights! Personally, I would skip this and just stay on the zip lines ! They were amazing and the guides were exceptional, too! They calmed me down when I was so scared! An experience you will never forget!

I’m a scaredy cat and I was a bit nervous to go zip lining, but I figured I needed to capitalize on the opportunity while in Costa Rica. My husband, 12 year old daughter, and I had such a blast! This was our favorite tour in Costa Rica, and we did a lot! The first zip line is super short and easy just to get you warmed up and familiar with the process. After that first one, I wasn’t scared anymore. The tour guides are experts in safety and took every measure to make sure we were safe at every step! Yes, there are platforms that are very high up in the trees, but you’re locked into a safety system at every step. 10 zip lines, rappelling, the Tarzan swing, climbing the hollow tree - we did it all and it was so exhilarating and fun. My 12 year old decided against the Tarzan swing but wants to go back to Costa Rica and try it in a few years. I highly recommend this tour!
