    Roy understood the assignment!

    Roy was AMAZING! Excellent communication leading up to the tour, and he definitely understood the assignment: my 9yo son requested to come to Costa Rica just to see toucans (he has been obsessed since 1st grade) and Roy delivered! We saw both species with ease, along with many other birds. Roy was patient and kind, just the right amount of education and humor! 10/10.

    Roy was such a great guide! He was able to spot all the birds hidden in the trees, identify their nests and recognise all their calls. We would not have seen all the birds we saw had it not been for him. Though great to have, a zoom lens isn't essential for this trip since Roy's telescope is great for capturing pictures even with just your phone! We enjoyed our tour so much, we booked again with Roy the next day for his cloud forest tour. This is a must see for anyone in Monteverde, bird lover or not! We also saw a pit viper, a tarantula, loads of ficus trees and a family of coatis, so its not just birds that you'll see on this tour.
