Traveller Tips

I definitely recommend this tour, although you should definitely bring several bottles of water with you (it gets hot with all of the walking to reach the attractions).

We must have been on the same bus as Keith_H-no a.c. and terrible guide who not only talked about himself most of the time and his music career, also reminded us that his salary consisted of tips. He reminded us of that every few minutes.
Nice city tour

Very nice tour, live narrative was a nice surprise. It synced narritive with location. Believe we saw all of the top sites, just wish we had more time.
Great ideas and transportation Alt.

We did the full tour twice and the information was great. Money saving tips, ideas on things to do, and recommendations on where to eat were provided. Newer bud tour was good. We s add Lao did the first three stops (got off at third stop) with a different guide and he was DRY. Very quick and to the point, no background or history lessons on what he’s talking about, and not too pleasant. However, all personnel were respectful and kind.
Great trip around Montreal

Covers all the sites and driver was helpful and informative. There was a lot of construction and he navigated well.
A Trip To Cherish

The stunning view at Royal mont place overlooking Montreal and the Saint Joseph Mont Royal captivated me. Downtown Montreal amazed me.

The history of Montreal , old Montreal was the highlite. The narrator on our first and fourth tour were very informative. A narrator that speaks more clearly and slowly would add to the experience . Offering a one day pass would be a suggestion as all tourists visiting do not have a two day option .
Heads up

FYI, on day 2, we sat on the top level and between stop 7 and 8, the bus passed by some branches and a couple of us got swiped by those branches, luckily, none of us were hurt.
Wonderful way to see Montreal

Francois and Dominic were friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. The audience changed throughout the tour and they also adapted their delivery to the audience they had very nicely.
One word. Subway

Have enjoyed Hop-on-Hop-off in many cities. But in this case... Bus AC barely worked (we were put in a closed bus instead of an open-air bus). The stops were far from interesting places. Want to see St. Joseph's? Be prepared for a LONG uphill hike from the bus stop. One stop was at a special homeless park -- why would out-of-town guests, unwise to Montreal street-sense, purposely visit a park that our guide said was converted to house the homeless? We drove PAST Notre Dame, St. Patrick's, but the guide had no facts about them. Drove PAST Chinatown and great restaurants, etc, but never stopped at any. 2 stops in Mont Royale, but kind of in the middle of nowhere, unless you brought a bike or a picnic. One stop along a route with expensive designer shopping, but not exactly a historic point of interest. The only stop we found interesting was Marché Bonsecours (restaurants, market, coffee). Funny guide, but didn't know much history, facts, local color, etc. Told his own personal stories. Didn't bother to use the 2nd day. Cheaper to get a 2-day subway pass (it was really nice!) that took us directly to many destinations on my bucket list. BTW, if you buy tickets online, you can't just show a QR code to get on the bus. We had to go inside the bus terminal (no restrooms, be prepared) and wait in line to get wrist bands.
Very disappointed

Had a Terrible guide on hop on bus. Didn’t learn anything except stuff about him, where he went to school, where he has lived, etc.
Great way to start your stay in Montréal.
Keith_A, May 2023
Bus was comfortable and stopped in some interesting places. My only issue is the inconsistency of the guides. The first guide we had forced humor and music knowledge into the tour. He didn’t tell us anything without humor. I appreciate humor but this was over the top. The woman who was our guide after our visit to Mt Royal was outstanding and really gave us great insight into the history of Montreal.
Worth the trip

Guides were informative and humorous. Bus was punctual It would have been nice if the stops had signage
MTL in a couple of hours!

The hop on hop off bus was a great way to see the sights of a new city and the ability to go back and spend time at the ones you chose.
Lovely hometown tour

The tour guide was hilarious in both French and English I was born in Montreal and moved with my parents to ontario when I was 14 I come to visit once or twice a year but this tour reminded me of all the places to love in Montreal
LADIES FRIENDLIER THAN THE MEN
Ramon_B, May 2023
Two day ticket for the HOP ON/HOP OFF (HOHO). First day the tour began @ 10AM. Very, very nice lady explaining things as we went along. It was a cold, cold day and had some rain. I went the whole circuit w/o getting off in order to get the lay of the land. Got back and went on the second circuit of the morning. The guide was a man who would not stop talking while we waited for the time to leave. He talked about the city, England, the U.S., music--turns out he is a jazz player--and it seemed he wanted to impress us w all the dates and details he know on all the subjects. I also think he likes to hear himself talk. I sat in the back side seat, but he asked me to move since if there was a passenger w a wheelchair, it would b placed there. I was led to believe there would be such a passenger, but there wasn't. I got off @ the 2nd or 3rd stop, the archeological museum to see the Egyptian exhibit, then walked to my hotel. The next day, raining even more, I picked up the bus @ Saint Antoine...another male guide who, along w the driver, was not friendly @ all. Don't know what it is about them. Maybe they do not like other males asking them questions and such. A good value for the money, but I think the male guides need to work on better 'people skills'.
A great experience!

A fun and informative experience. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. A good way to experience Montreal. Recommended!
Extremely Fun and Worth Every Penny

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable, but also so much fun. The tour was over before we knew it, but I felt as if I got a lifetime history lesson on Montreal. Highly recommend!
Last Day ticket
Akinola_A, Oct 2022
booked tour for Oct 23 and 24. Only to be told on Oct 23 at 1pm that was the last tour of the season. Staff was initially rude saying take it or get a refund. We were later put on the 3hr ride bus by another staff member. No info from viator or grayline that Oct 23 was last day when tickets were purchased.
Montreal history with humour
Malcolm_L, Oct 2022
Our tour guide, Swan (sic) was excellent - both humorous and informative. He was very knowledgeable about Montreal history and bent over backwards to ensure that we saw all the important sites and were entertained.
Great way to see the city with family.
Robert_C, Oct 2022
Max and Tony were amazing. Tony skillfully navigated the route and Max provided us with great information and history in English and French. Really made our trip here all the more informative and enjoyable. Thank you.
