Our driver Edwardo was nice and informative. He did a great job driving and giving us information. The only things we did not like was that we were picked up in a old BMW car instead of a van. Which was hard for us having a 1 year old baby with us. Other than that I find it hard to be able and complete the entire itinerary they have on Viator with how long it takes to drive to the places.

We booked this tour so that we could visit Pompeii in the morning with our allocated guide. When our driver picked us up he said Pompeii was at 2pm which didn’t suit us at all and they did not manage to change it because the guide couldn’t do it. Sorrento was lovely and our driver was fine but the whole day was not great as once we got to Pompeii it was crowed and boiling hot even though the guide was fantastic. Overall the day was okay but could have been great if the tour was as it was advertised which was Pompei first. No refund was offered if we went earlier without a guide either. We did 4 private tours and this one was probably the worst unfortunately

Unfortunately, this was the worse tour we have ever booked in our years of travel!!!!!!! We were looking forward to touring Pompeii and the Amafi Coast. I paid for the “skip the line” service but when we arrived in Pompeii no arrangements had been made. Also, Kelvin suggested we visit Pompeii towards the end of the tour! I am so happy we insisted on visiting first before the crowd and elevated temperatures! We were force to spend an additional 150 euros for a private tour guide. Thankfully, Charolette was extremely knowledgable and the highlight of our tour. The driver “Kelvin” is definitely not suitable to be a tour guide or driver. It was a VERY ackward experience and a disappointing way to end an amazing 15 day vacation. He didn’t utter a word unless asked a question and the response was very short. He suggested we only visit Sorrento because of the heavy traffic in Postiano. When he picked us up he did not even ask us if we had a good time in Sorrento. I have never ever encountered this level of disconnect. I was forced to repeat questions to him because he was extremely disengaged!!!!!!!!! This is the first time my husband did not tip the driver or tour guide. We are extremely generous but could not tip him!

Best Way To Spend Our Limited Resources, Both Time & Money!!

I can’t recommend this tour enough! Our guide, Mario Calabrese, was perfection! With only a day to see the Sorrentine Peninsula, we decided to spend the money in order to maximize our opportunities. Best decision ever! Mario was a wealth of insider tips, from where to eat and shop, to back stories about the culture, communities, and even celebrities. We were entertained the entire journey and felt we saw and experienced more than we could’ve possibly anticipated with only a day’s time. Additionally, our guide at Pompeii, Anna Girau, was just the right guide for our skip the lines tour that got in and beat the cruise ship rush. Anna was intelligent and knowledgeable, insightful and kind. She led the ideal tour of the fascinating excavation that is Pompeii. We felt privileged to have to have her as our guide for she was well studied in the art and culture of historical Pompeii. We loved her!

Pietro picked up my wife and I from Napoli Centrale and promptly took us toward Positano. There was traffic which lengthened the ride there. But Pietro has a great sense of humor and great taste in music, so the ride did not seem as long. We had one hour in Positano (which is more than enough in our opinion) and then made our way to Sorrento and view of the Gulf of Naples. We had another hour to spend here and it is a perfect amount of time to get a taste of this great city. On our way to Pompeii, we stopped at a Lemoncello factory to sample the product and to have a great picturesque view of Sorrento. Now came the highlight of our trip, Pompeii. Pietro told us we had up to two hours to tour at our leisure and my wife and I got to finally see a bucket list item of ours for years. Two hours is not enough to really explore, but it gave us enough to whet our appetite until we return again. Pietro gave us one last treat before dropping us off at the train station and that was a quick city tour of Naples. Some might think that between the three places, that this would not be enough time. I would agree with that sentiment as traffic and the day of the week can alter that. My wife and I went on a Saturday (a day that most people head to the beaches for fun) so traffic was heavier. My wife and I like to be punctual so we kept track of our time in each location and managed to see and eat our way through Positano and Sorrento. Our real desire for this tour was Pompeii, so we had the mindset of seeing the rest as a bonus. We both feel that we got real value from this tour and had a great driver in Pietro to get us to and from Naples. We would gladly do another tour with him as our driver, any day. Thank you!

Unfortunately on our day in Naples, traffic was extremely heavy so we did not see the sights we had planned for. We had hoped to go to Pompeii but our driver discouraged because of traffic. Seemed like we had a difficult time making a plan at the start of our day compared to other private tour/vans we had booked. Also be clear in what you are wanting from your day when discussing with driver, we mentioned shopping, meaning small local, inexpensive items but our first stop ended up being a fairly expensive jewelry store/museum, there was no high pressure to buy, but it was not what we were hoping for at all. We also told him initially we were hoping to make a quick stop somewhere at a local cafe for breakfast, but it was nearly 2 hours into our tour that we got to a village to eat. Restaurant recommendations were fair. After it seemed we would not be hitting any of our destinations, our guide was able to make arrangements for us to have a wine tasting at a local vineyard during our afternoon and that was nice. It did had an additional charge per person for our group of 5. Ultimately this experience felt a bit more like a transport service than a private tour compared to other bookings we have completed but again some items were out of our driver's control.

Our driver, Mario, was most engaging, helpful and entertaining. Our Pompeii tour duide, Viviana, was excellent and we had the good fortune to enter the ruins through a different entrance than we has used previously so we got to visit parts of the site we had never seen in prior tours.

Definitely worth that little bit extra.

Our driver Pietro was very bubbly and polite, he explained perfectly pick up points for each stop, our guide at Pompei (all the other guides called him Michael?) was very knowledgeable and passionate about Pompei he brought it to life and made it a wonderful tour. Was definitely worth the extra to do this private tour, very well arranged, picked up and dropped off directly at the Port, and at all points they kept check to ensure we were back to our ship in time.

Outstanding tour. Having had the opportunity of traveling quite a bit and interacting with dozens of tour guides. I will say that Mario was not only superbly knowledgeable; also unafraid to suggest and modify the tour to give you a real local experience. Along with that, his singing voice is beautiful and contagious we all ended up singing to (by chance his and mine favorite) Andrea Bocelli (he thinks his voice is as good🤣🤣he’s good but not that good🤣🤣🤣) Totally recommend spend a full day with Mario for a real local tour. By the end of the day you’ll love the area, limoncello, Andrea Bocelli and above all his Futbol team NAPOLI. He’ll even challenge you if you don’t like a place he tells you to eat he’ll pay for it🤣🤣 He avoided every big bus picture stop for a much better spot where he was well known and welcomed.

We book it the day before, and they managed to make all the arrangements, including a guide for Pompei in Spanish in such short time. It was a not easy to get in contact with the local company, but the driver helped us in that. He was Ciro and the guide, Rosa, were really great.
