Our tour guides were wonderful! Very well informed about the locations we visited! I appreciate that we learned quite a bit of local history and yet still had time to explore and see some things on our own. We’ve done other tours with different companies that were super fast paced and had WAY too much information thrown at us, this was so much better. I’d love to have the same tour guides in the future if bringing other friends to the area. Will absolutely book via Viator for tours in the future!

Overall it was a great experience to see Pompeii and Capri which really are must sees. However I paid for a small VIP group tour of no more than 8 people. Instead the light before I received an email saying they needed to increase it up to 18 people and move our start time from 8:15am to 7:30am. In return they refunded $25 euros. We ended up waiting until 8:20am for all people to arrive. You do a lot of traveling to get to each area and for Pompeii they combined it with other groups and we ended up making three stops to pick up additional people for the Pompeii part of the tour. Our guide Andrea was the highlight of the tour. Knowing now how easy it is to get to capri I would not purchase this again

Horrible experience, $1,250 to take a ferry boat

Complete scam and miserable time. We had this tour booked months in advance, and gave the tour agent the times that our cruise ship was going to be in Port in Naples and the day before we came on the cruise, we received a message that the timing was not going to work out and they cancelled the Pompeii portion of the trip for us. We could have cancelled and had another tour booked and ready to go. Instead, we get off the ship and waited 45 minutes to find our guide (who had my name written on a tiny piece of paper in thin blue pen, illegible without binoculars). We finally found him at around 7:45am, and after booking the “VIP private tour” for $250/person (!!!!) he tells us we have to wait for another group from the ship. We end up waiting for over an hour before finally getting our “VIP” group of FIFTEEN people ready to get on the boat to Capri. With the time wasted waiting for others, we could have gotten the earlier ferry to Capri and been able to make it back for Pompeii no problem. We get to Capri, our tour guide tells us that the gardens of Capri, main attraction, is closed so instead he takes us to another random city where he then tells us we can ride a ski lift for $16/person (wasn’t on the itinerary, and the Capri Funicular was supposed to be included). We opted to not do the chair lift and instead walk around this town in the mountain. We then get about an hour to explore before we had to be rushed back to the bus to make the ferry boat. $250 per person, $1,250 for my family and all we got was a $40 ticket on a giant ferry boat across the ocean to the island. Complete waste of time, money, and a ruined day in Naples

The guide at Pompeii was great- what was NOT GREAT was the “tour” of Capri. We were told to meet at 7:30- all 16 of us were there at 7:30. Our guide was not- when he did arrive he told us we had to wait till 8:15 to board a boat- some of us skipped breakfast to be there at 7:30. The boat didn’t leave till 8:35. Once we got to Capri we were led to a garden- he never once asked what we wanted to do- we couldn’t even stop for a drink. After the time he required we spent at the garden we started back down- he took us to a perfume shop (I don’t wear perfume), and a limoncello place (I don’t drink). We had THIRTY minutes of “free” time before we caught the ship back. All of us asked several times if we could do our own thing and he said no- it was very frustrating- a lot of standing around waiting instead of getting to shop in stores we wanted to go to or just explore. We wished we had just gone on our own!

Capri was beautiful, but the timing was weird. We got 45 min to do what we wanted on our own, yet only 30 for lunch? In Pompeii we were very rushed because of a last minute couple addition to the tour, so didn’t spend much time there. Guides were very nice and knowledgeable.

There were no memories as we were not picked up from the designated point after checking in the previous day. we were given a 8.15 am pick up time by World tours. We walked over a kilometer from our hotel to the point, and arrived at 7.45 am. We rang after an hour after pick up time and were told we had missed the pick up, even though others were at the pick-up point doing the same tour were picked up. We, after an hour, rang the company and asked if we could get a cab to the pier and were told that we were too late as the tour had left. This was not good as we lost AUD $1,129.80. for our 4 member group. we do not blame viator, but the operator. Bill, Sue, Alicia and Scott. Australia.

The trip was ok….if you are in Napoli for a very short time and want to see as much as you can, go for it. However!… I’m not a massive history fan, but the Pompei was a run through!! I don’t think we stopped once!.. I could easily spent couple of more hours there and if you like history it’s definitely a whole day trip! Capri is absolutely waste if anyone time. Mama mia it’s sooo soooo busy and really nothing much to see there! Procida is definitely nicer and calmer! Also our guard didn’t talk at all which was weird. He was not friendly what so ever!!

The guide was extremely nice but the tour itself was quick for both places. I know combining two large experiences would be hard and maybe it’s perfect for someone who does not have a full day but if you are staying a while make both trips on separate days. You can easily buy a ferry ticket for a full day in capri and then Pompeii is a half day experience. It was too much doing both in one day. Again the tour guide was super nice.

The pickup timing was changed the night before. However the capri guide - Donatella did wait for us for additional 10-15 minutes as the ship docked late. The Pompeii guide rushed us as his main aim was to avoid crowd and even missed giving us basic information about the site. We overheard some interesting tit bits from other guides which we should have learnt from him instead. They need to keep some time for shopping in pompeii as well as it felt too rushed.

We had an excellent experience seeing Capri and Pompeii. Our guides were exceptional! We were able to see Capri while learning more about this island's rich history, and even had time to ourselves to explore and have lunch. Our tickets to the ferry and cable car were coordinated and our travel experience couldn't have been easier. We also had a wonderful tour of Pompeii. Our guide provided insights while keeping the tour interesting. I highly recommend this tour!

Pompeii and our guide were filled with history and stories. It was difficult to hear our guide even with our small group. Capri is beautiful and definitely for shoppers. The boat ride there was on a fast boat but that didn’t allow us to be outside to enjoy. It was a bit too crowded for me and I’ve heard summer is even worse. The tour pick up van was old and doors rattled loudly. It was very difficult to hear our leader even in a group of 6 in the van. Both our guide and leader were full of information but again difficult to hear. The company did not provide microphones and head pieces for us which I think would have improved the quality or our tour immensely.

The Pompei portion was very interesting and the guide knowledge but I felt like he was hurrying us through the site The Capri portion was a rip-off. It takes one hour boat ride there and one hour boat there back. On Capri we basically had a total of approximately 45 minutes before we had to depart. Our guide Viviana seemed like she was ready to get back and immediately left us once we were escorted back to our return bus Maybe this is NOT two things to do in one day or possibly extend it another hour

Terry was great, we loved her Capri tour and we’re so glad she planned that to be in the morning. Terry took us to Pompeii where Franco took over. Franco was very knowledgeable but was soft spoken and difficult to hear. I had been to Pompeii before but it was my husband’s first time, I was disappointed that we didn’t see several important areas like the ancient restaurant and other daily life experiences in Pompeii. Whisper ear buds would have made this entire tour much better. Long day!

Re booking reference: 924897306 Worldtours Naples left without us at the cruise port in spite of many messages and us waiting at the meeting spot. We were the first passengers off our cruise ship when it was cleared at 8:10 am. We ran to the meeting spot for our tour only to find no one from Worldtours there. I sent 3 messages through the Viator app - nothing. I then googled the phone number for Worldtours Naples and called them. I was told the group had left. There was physically no way for us to have gotten to the meeting spot any quicker. I would like a full refund for our ruined day in Naples.

Both experiences were awesome. Unfortunately we were rushed because the cruise ship changed our on board time to 30 mins earlier. The girls did a good job of assuring us this would happen. Pickup from the cruise terminal was smooth and our main tour guide was sweet. My recommendation is if you want a taste of both activities this is the one. If you want more in depth info on Pompeii, which was very interesting, then choose a different one.

Serene was an EXCELLENT guide. We had the best time at Capri and Pompeii. We booked the VIP tour and had alone time in the beautiful Capri after Serena showed us all the spots and gave us tips we needed. Then we went to Pompeii and were with one other couple. We had a LOVELY guide in pompeii who was hilarious. This tour was perfect for our short weekend trip and best of both worlds. Would 1000% recommend.
