Make your way to L’ybane restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen in the afternoon, where you’ll meet your experienced guide to begin your excursion in this fascinating area. Located just west of Times Square, this long-overlooked neighborhood offers an incredible array of food, culture and nightlife options for those willing to look beyond the usual Big Apple highlights.

Begin your food crawl to some of the many ethnic eateries lining this busy neighborhood’s blocks. As you proceed you’ll snack on hush puppies, chow down on baba ghanoush and cap it all off with a mouth-watering doughnut and ice cream sandwich. You’ll have enough to eat during this part of your day to count for a full lunch.

Continue your tour by burning off your food with a walk to nearby Central Park. One of the world’s most iconic (and historic) green spaces has a wealth of off-the-beaten track attractions for those that know where to look. Ever wonder how much the land inside the park is worth? Heard of Shakespeare’s Garden? Where do you end up if you take the only straight path in the park? Each of these queries will be explained as you make your way through this outdoor wonderland.

Check out areas of Central Park few non-locals will ever explore, including one secluded spot that feels a million miles away from the concrete of the Big Apple. Definitely a great thing to do while in NYC!

Claire was an amazing tour guide. Every single restaurant stop we made was delicious! I only wish I had two stomachs. You will not leave this tour hungry. Claire had fun stories and a great energy throughout the whole tour, and she was super sweet too. Thank goodness for the walk in Central Park afterwards because we were so full. And we were very glad to have her as our tour guide. Thanks so much, Claire!

We loved our day with Claire she was a fantastic tour guide and we loved the food. The international food theme was super fun and delicious. We loved each stop of the way. The only place we didn’t really like the food was the meatball shop. Everything else was fantastic. We had a blast at the Central Park tour and learned so much. Definitely recommend.

Claire was a great tour guide to our stops in Hell's Kitchen, she provided lots of history and current details about the area. Sometimes a little hard to hear in the more crowded restaurants. Delicious food - my favorite was the cookies, be sure to come hungry! Central park stroll was a nice way to walk off all the calories we ate -learned a lot about the history of park.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We would have not ventured over to hells Kitchen otherwise, and enjoyed the great food in the area the tour had chosen for us. It was exactly what I was wanting coming to NYC! Nancy did a great job by giving us history, but not being over the top with way too much info we wouldn’t remember. She was the perfect tour guide. Enjoyed the Central Park part of the tour as well. We would not have walked as far in as we did without being on a tour. We are not familiar with the Subway and Nancy walked us down and right to the line we were to be on, and even waited with us to make sure we got on the right one. So glad we did this in NYC because it was very enjoyable. Wear comfortable shoes! Lots of walking on this one.

We usually wander NYC on our own but this time decided to book this Viator tour and I always enjoy the tours with food and stories. Jake did a fabulous job of taking us to cool places for food including Asia barbecue, cookies at Schmakaray’s and tapas. The Tapas place is one of those cool bars where you walk back and back into this super cool room and the food included Tiki Masala tacos which is super unique. Loved hearing about the Irish gangs in Hells Kitchen but really appreciated the walk through Central Park on a beautiful Sept afternoon and hearing the history of the park and just having a delightful walk. Highly recommend this tour and Jake Wallace as a tour guide.
