    What To Expect

    Upon entering Rockefeller Center, pass through security and ride up to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, open 365 days a year.

    The view is as dramatic a sight as anyone can get in New York City. Day or night, the three floors of indoor and outdoor decks serve to impress. Take in the scenery from a comfortable seat or use binoculars for unobstructed views through glass panels on the 67th and 69th floors and in the open air observatory on the 70th floor. On all three levels, have a photo taken by a Kodak pro and pick it up on the way out.

    • Top of the Rock utilizes timed-ticketing; your voucher must be exchanged in person for a timed-ticket at the Top of the Rock box office.

    You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

    • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
    • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
    • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
    • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

    If you're an early bird and you're hoping to get pictures without too many people around, I recommend going at opening (8am).
    Spend some time at the lower levels of Rockefellar Center..You won't be disappointed.
    Do the empire state during the day and this at night - or vice versa as the contrast is excellent.

    Great views but far to many people. I went with my parents 70’s and 80’s. Around 100 people every 5 mins. So Difficult to get to the front. The view was incredible though.

    Omar was a great tour guide! He played music, gave great information about the park, and took wonderful pictures alone the way! I would highly recommend this tour through NYC Park Tours! You won’t want to miss this great way to see Central Park! I have been to the City several times and this was the best and most informative Central Park tour!

    Pre-purchasing your tickets with Viator: 1. $20/ticket more expensive than at the venue 2. Not valid for "prime time" at the venue 3. You still need to line up in the ticket line to exchange your voucher for a ticket 4.No additional value or purpose for pre-purchase Waste of money, Viator is a rip off.

    Great experience at the Top of the Rock. Buying tickets through Viator was so easy. We exchanged them in the morning for timed tickets that evening. As a consequence we walked straight in and didn’t have to line up with others eugh I timed tickets. Highly recommend

    The view was great (observed at night, with a “timed” ticket). Shame the glass isn’t cleaned of smears more often at the top but appreciate the predicament (caused by tourists). Queuing system outside seemed a bit chaotic, to enter the main building but again appreciate the building wasn’t designed for this purpose and number of people at once as far as I can tell. The guy outside was doing a sterling job.

    Beautiful building and fantastic views which were different from the Empire State views. there was also the skating if you wished and there were plenty of food shops to pick up some lunch and go outside to eat.

    Not only was this an unpleasant experience but it was also incredibly unsafe. The “Top of the Rock” was overcrowded & no one would move from the ledge to allow all visitors to see the view. The second tier of the deck was even MORE crowded (if you can even imagine this) and again - people would not move from the ledge and numerous others were sitting in between the ledge and walkway so it was almost impossible to even move around. All visitors are assigned a specific time to visit but there are no employees regulating this time to ensure all guests have the opportunity to properly experience “Top of the Rock”. We all pay for our tickets and I believe this attraction can be much better regulated for a safer and better experience. I was able to take the best photos from the windows on my way back down, if that tells you anything.
