We thought the trip was too quick, i.e., we know the trolley is on a schedule but to get a good look at Newport maybe extend the tour to give the driver/narrator time to go slower.

Both of the Mansions were impressive. But what made the Trolley experience outstanding was Ray (our guide) and Steve (driver). The personal experiences they shared about living in and around Newport RI were interesting and added the human touch to our experience. If you’re not touring on a weekend, ask for Larry. He’s absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable but more importantly, he loves the job. We received an overview of Newport from the history to the present. Beautiful tour route. I’m sure it was selected to show off the best of the area. We were overwhelmed by the two houses we visited but the area was the star of the tour

The mansions were beautiful. Our driver was the best. He was a retired teacher who grew up in Newport and still lives there. Learned a lot as he was able to tell us how Newport was when he grew up and all the changes that are now in place. Who owned what and who owns it now. What a great way to learn all that history going back over 100 years ago.
