Wonderful experience!

Karen was the perfect tour guide! She communicated with us well before to put together an itinerary with things we wanted to see or experience. And as in our case, when the weather didn’t cooperate, she adjusted the schedule to make the most of the day. She was well prepared with information that definitely made the tour more interesting! We ate the local specialties and she even slipped in a brief tasting at a local sake brewer. We can’t say enough about the day we spent touring Nikko with her!

Great Guide, Service and Tour

My friend and I had Yumi for a guide. She corresponded with us before we arrived in Japan so that she could find out what we would like to see and plan our tour accordingly. She also advised us on what clothing to wear for the weather and that we should perhaps hire a car because of the weather. The driver that she found was wonderful, and they even brought umbrellas for us to use. Even though the weather was less than ideal, we saw some beautiful sites and had a very nice day our two wonderful, caring hosts. I would highly recommend this tour. It has beautiful scenery and historical national treasures. Note: We took the limited express train from Tokyo to Nikko and were met by Yumi at the Tobu-Nikko train station. The train was very clean and comfortable. A super way to go.

Nikko: Temples, shrines and waterfalls

Ikuko was a wonderful guide. We did it as a day trip from Tokyo. She met us at the station in Nikko in the late marning. We had a list of places we might want to go, but were very open to suggestions. She managed to get us to a great variety of places. We had perfect timing to go see Kegon Falls and the lake before fog rolled in and you couldn't see anything. Then we explored the temples and shrines. She had a lot of interesting stories about the history and made seeing everything so much more interesting. We really appreciated her company!
