What To Expect

Meet your guide in the morning at the designated location in Waikiki Beach. Start with a safety briefing and get outfitted with your bike and helmet, then set out on your ride.

Follow your guide to Kapiolani Park and the WWI Natatorium Memorial, where native Hawaiian Duke Kahanamoku and others trained for the Olympics. Then visit a hidden green-sand beach near Diamond Head and pedal past hulking mansions.

From there, a short ascent takes you to the Diamond Head Light House Lookout. Continue to Doris Duke’s Shangri-La in the exclusive Black Point neighborhood, and pass the Hawaii Five-O TV studios.

Next, head into the Diamond Head Crater for a hike. Get great photo ops of Oahu’s south and east facing shores, and hear about the island's World War II history. After your hike, it's time to relax over a healthy lunch. Your tour ends in Waikiki.

This tour is recommended for people with a good level of fitness and biking experience. Expect a bike ride that covers a total of 9-12 miles (14-19 km) with some hilly terrain. You'll also hike on foot to the top of Diamond Head.

Please note: Between June 15th, 2019 and August 31st, 2019. this tour operates Monday through Friday due to the huge crowds that visit Diamond Head volcano on the weekends.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

We had a great time on our cycling hiking and lunch tour with Kelly! The day brought about unsuspecting rain throughout the tour with breaks of sunshine in between and we even had the joy of experiencing cloud cover at the top of Diamond head-which cleared before long giving us breathtaking views of the islands and beaches below. The day was full of adventure and Kelly was a very professional, friendly, and excellent tour guide!!!

Kelly is a wonderful guide and this tour was a great experience! Highly recommend for anyone staying in Waikiki interested an active way to see local sights and learn all about the area. The route and stops are chosen with care and deep local knowledge. Most importantly, Kelly didn't cancel even though no one else signed up AND did a great job keeping up the energy & fun on my accidentally-private tour! Also he took lots of photos for me (extra appreciated when traveling solo!) and had no issues with my dietary restrictions, even called ahead to the lunch place to verify options. Here's hoping I'll make it back to Oahu soon to try one of his other tours :)

Bikes were ready and sized for each guest prior to us getting there, which was nice. Our tour leader, Kelly, was highly knowledgeable on all the sites we saw. Bikes were easy to ride and shift. The ride up to the Diamond Head park wasn't too bad - a few areas require some leg day work. The hike part was stunning. Keeping the park limited may help keep so many people up at the same time. I won't lie, this takes some effort to get up there, so you really do need to be in some decent shape to make this part of the trip, but boy is it worth it. Spectacular views from the top you will not see anywhere else on the island. Great history of this gem. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience with my husband. We were very inexperienced bike riders but our tour guide Kelly was patient, informative, and friendly. My husband is not a fish eater and Kelly made some calls and found a place that sold hamburgers on the way back. I would definitely recommend this tour!

I loved our bike trip up to Diamond Head. It was a great way to experience more places. Kelly our guide was the best! He had so much interesting information about the islands, the history, and other various topics. It doesn't appear to be advertised but Kelly took lots of photos of us and then made a little montage that he sent us a couple of days later! It was awesome. Kelly made us feel safe biking around. The taco lunch was also very delicious. I would highly recommend this tour.
