What To Expect

After being picked up from your Waikiki hotel, set off on the Circle Island Drive. Keep your camera to hand as you wind up into the Koʻolau Mountains, stopping to gaze out over the Hawaiian Islands from the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout and visit Byodo-In Temple.

Continue to the North Shore, where you have the chance to explore seafront towns such as Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach, enjoy sweeping views of Waimea Bay, and watch the surfers taking to the waves. Visit the beautiful Waimea Falls, then make a final stop at the Dole Plantation, where you can sample some tasty frozen pineapple DoleWhip® (own expense).

After a full day taking in the island’s highlights, return to Waikiki, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

There is just too much to do there so you’ll need to go back on your own time.

Humu, our driver, was fantastic. NEVER had so much fun on a tour ever. I’m 75 so I’ve been on tours before. Hawaii culture, music, jokes, Hulu dancing, sing a longs. Informative and FUN. Great experience.

Our tour guide knew his job. Gave us a lot of background for what we saw and had a great personality. Only downside was lunch wasn’t that great. Edible but not great. Our guide was efficient and ordered ahead so it would be ready for us but it was cold by the time we got it.

A perfect introduction to Oahu

This is a great tour of Oahu. Do this early during your vacation to get to know the island. There were actually more stops than those listed. Our tour also stopped at a fresh fruit stand and a macadamia nut & coffee stand - both were wonderful and had delicious food for sale. Our tour included lunch at Fumi's Shrimp Stand; they also have chicken for those with shellfish allergies. Bring a bathing suit if you plan on going in the water. The area is VERY rocky and you WILL slip off of the rocks if you're not careful, so wear sandals. It's worth it, however, as the water is very refreshing, There are changing rooms in the area, just be sure to keep an eye on the time! We also visited a Japanese temple, a sightseeing location, and the Dole pavilion. All excellent parts of the tour. There's a lot more to do at Dole than you'll have time for, so consider coming back another day. You'll also pass by Kualoa Ranch (filming site for Jurassic Park and many other movies & TV shows) so consider doing that another day as well.

Nightmare of a Tour Operator - her loud, throat clearing tales of herself and her family were very irritating. Her constant reminder of caring for “her laminated signs & photos” because of the time to produce and her cost was unnecessary. Also her constant hinting and outright asking for tips was also annoying. Finally after an expensive piece of jewellery had been lost at the Dole Plantation, a request for her help was refused and she just didn’t want to know. Very very unprofessional and an experience never wished to be repeated and certainly no recommendations.

The highlight for me was hiking 3/4 of a mile through zwaimea Valley's lush botanical garden path to the wpaterfall, going in the water & hiking down. Beautiful sights, scents & sounds!
