Honolulu is hot so time your stop buses are approximately 1 hour apart and there is not much shade to hide from the sun.

Long wait time-trolleys over crowded

My husband and I tried to get on the first red line bus. I bought the 4 day all line passes thinking this would be the best value. "Hopping on hopping off" is only a figure of speech. Most of the time the busses are too full to even get on. Not sure if this was the best value. If you have unlimited time and don't mind waiting and hour for each bus then get it. I think the HI public transportation is a better option.

Mike the guide know and lot and was very funny. Warns us of tourist traps and even gave recommendations for stuff do after the tour. We indeed see a lot of turtles!

I got all lines 1-day pass. Trolley experience started very well with the blue line. The driver was great, really funny - it was pleasurable tour. Then we took a pink line, which was ok too. Finally we wanted to take green line to go to Diamond head trailhead. Viator website said the last green departures at 2.00pm so we were on a bus stop at 1.50pm. We waited and waited but the trolley didn’t come. We checked the official website and it had different info, it said the last trolley is at 2.32pm. So we continued waiting. Finally the trolley came at around 2.40pm - by that time we had been waiting for already 50 min (with a small kid!!!). The worst thing is that the driver said the next stop would be the last stop and he’s not going to Diamond Head trailhead any more. We were very frustrated, texted the seller but all we could hear is that we should have checked the official website for the schedule. The official website never said it doesn’t make the whole round trip at 2.32pm…

Never book Viator without all the facts

When booking the blue line, was never given exact times it ran, just that the lines ran from about eight in the morning until eight or so at night. We showed up at 2:00 and were told the last blue line left at 1:30!! So we got totally cheated out of that tour!!

Need more trolleys

Day started off well with a trip on the Green line with very few problems, however, when I wanted to go on the red line there was a huge queue & I ended up in this for over an hour. Eventually I did get on a trolley & luckily got a seat but others were standing & you felt like you didn’t want to get off at any of the stops as there was no guarantee that a future trolley would have space to get on. In the end I stayed on the red line until the end & decided not to bother on any of the others. Having said that, the drivers & commentary were great, very informative.

Good option to get around Honolulu

Great way to get around Honolulu. We booked a multi bus ticket for 4 so we could go to Diamond Head & hit a few other places. Each line has a different route so either get a multiple line pass or make sure the one you purchase goes to the areas you want to see. There are cheaper ways to get around Honolulu but the drivers are also your your tour guides - “Z” on the Green bus was fantastic! Only negative was after purchasing the “tickets” thru Viator you have to find a local kiosk to pick up the physical ticket.

Bad experience. In a trolley open bus, they make people standing on the bus. They could not accommodate all people sitting so about 10 people were standing during the trip. I decided to stop the bus because I feel the risk that somebody could get hurt. I am 77 years with knees replacement and I considered a risk of falling. Therefore I get off the bus.

I do very much recommend riding with Becka because she was a blast and very funny and told us where to look, went slowly on the road when there were beautiful pictures to take, and showed us where all the celebrities houses were! Would definitely ride again! I do wish the trolleys were a bit higher though so you don’t have to crouch down to look at things :)
