Wonderful experience. Not rushed. Elizabeth easily talked about anything we asked. Excellent value!
Markets were very interesting and Elizabeth seemed to have wonderful rapport with all the vendors she took us to see.

I wish this tour was something I did on day 1 of arriving in Oaxaca. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave very good explanations of the culture, the food, and how to navigate both markets. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth was a delight. She told us stories about the food to enhance our experience of eating it!
She took us to friendly knowledgeable vendors where we sampled a wide variety of Oaxaca specialties, and she even had a map to orient us as to the villages they came from.

Elizabeth is a great tour guide. I learned a lot about the different foods we saw in the markets and was able to taste many of them. Elizabeth vibrant, warm and friendly and she shared her enthusiasm for her city and her country. I would highly recommend this tour.
Left feeling bored, hungry and like the guide could use a little guidance

The tour took a while to get off the ground and actually eat something. Our guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant but the first two hours were spent looking in the market, eating a couple herbs and a drink and talking about religion (a couple people in the group brought this up and the guide answered all their questions about religion in Oaxaca) finally after 2 hours we were given an empanada. Quite good and then we went to the meat market. Bummed we didn’t eat any of the delicious smelling Meat there. Rather, we continued to the back of the market to a restaurant where our guide explained every single menu item in depth and we stood there and listened. After she said we could order anything we wanted which was weird because usually they tell us what we should order or it just comes to us. Our group spent another 45 mins sitting down and eating and talking and I excused myself to leave because after 3 hours I was exhausted and also just wanted to leave because a few group members were only talking about themselves. The guide explained we had one more stop so I stayed and got the dessert with the group. I find it so odd that our guide didn’t keep us in a schedule to keep the group moving and all in it took over 3 hours for this tour and I was left feeling hungry. Wouldn’t recommend this tour

Elizabeth was an excellent guide. She was cheerful, informative and her English was perfect! She gave a fascinating description of the extensive Christmas celebration in Oaxaca that explains the little dolls that several women were seen carrying in the streets. There were five of us. Elizabeth always made sure to make eye contact with each of us when she was explaining the food items in the market. At first, we only tasted items. Later, we sampled empanadas, a drink similar to a smoothie and ordered from a menu at our last stop. Highly recommended

Great tour led by Isabel who was fun, engaging and very enthusiastic. Highlights included grasshoppers, mezcals and local ice cream/ sorbet.
