Amazing day with the crocs.
Karen_H, May 2023
The croc boat ride and the croc demo were amazing! Learnt alot from very friendly, knowledgable keepers.
Response from Host, May 2023
How delightful that you enjoyed your time with us and also learned from our team. Thanks so much for the time invested in reviewing us and sharing your experience Karen.
I give this place a two thumbs up
Rita_A, Apr 2023
I went to visit Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures with my Mum who is in a wheelchair. We were both very happy with the access for wheelchairs and the pathways all around the property. We have had terrible experience at other places but can highly recommend Hartley’s. Also the food was terrific and the boat ride is amazing.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
How lovely to receive this positive feedback about our accessibility Rita. When we built Hartley's our kids were very close in age and travelled in a double pram. You learn very quickly how challenging it is to get around at attractions, and a valuable lesson in the need to make everything as accessible as possible.
Definitely a must go
Catherine_A, Mar 2023
The boat ride watching them get the crocs up and out of the water was amazing. The front staff and guys who ran the boat rides were super friendly live shows were great as well

Crocodile feeding… Boat ride through croc-swamp. Great shows. Lot’s of croc’s, informative and friendly staff 👍
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Short but very sweet. Many thanks Irena.
Great day great experience
Gary_W, Jan 2023
It was a great day but the children would have loved to have more interacting with the animals, other than that they had a great day.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Many thanks Gary for your comments. We certainly do provide as much opportunity for 'interaction' with our wildlife as is possible, allowing for the welfare of our animals. The Gondwana Gateway is free range, allowing for interaction with wallabies, kangaroos and pademelons. We also include our Aussie wildlife presentation during the holidays for free which provides great opportunities for interactivity. Plus at the Snake Show and we have the cassowary feeding too. Many thanks.
Great experience. Up...

Adena_S, Sept 2022
This is the second time we’ve been to Hartley’s…. But our first time with the kids. We were impressed to see more infrastructure and again relieved on how wheelchair friendly everything is. We thoroughly recommend Hartley’s as a must see when in the area. Staff are wonderful and it’s great to see the new generation getting involved too! Thank you for having us 💙
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Lovely to welcome you again to Hartley's Adena and yes we are always improving our facilities with more to come in 2023.

Terrific talks by all of the team.. Every staff member was fantastically engaging. Loved the Crock Attack. Only wish there were more farm tours.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Many thanks Julie. We do have two farm tours each day and we do up to four per day on the holidays. Appreciate your feedback and we'd be launching some updates on the farm tour soon.
Well worth the visit
John_F, Aug 2022

Mixed Reveiw depending on what you’re there for
Clara_F, July 2022
Crocodile feedings and snake tour were fantastic and I’d rate that a 10/10 but the other parts of the park let it down. The birds don’t need to be there, it just seems cruel to have Emu’s and Cassowaries in such small enclosures when in the wild they roam such vast distances. The cafe there also isn’t great, long queues and mediocre food, so eat beforehand
Response from Host, Aug 2022
Appreciate your feedback and Clara. Thanks so much for the 10 out of 10 in regards to our crocodile feeding and snake show. Always happy to take constructive and other feedback on board. One thing I'd like to point out, is it is always helpful if you are going to make comment, to take the time to speak to people at a venue first. Anyway such as it is, Queensland as with other States in Australia have specifications for the welfare of captive wildlife. Indeed wild birds have a range which in most cases I'll point out is often impacted by farming and urban development, dogs, cars and many other challenges, so the 'wild' is not the Utopia for wildlife it once was. Nonetheless the Emus were all raised in captivity, they are not wild birds taken into captivity. Their enclosure is excellent and most certainly exceeds the requirements which are in the standards for such enclosure, which you may not be aware of. For your information, I volunteered to take them in when the Zoo they were at closed down. They've lived a happy and healthy life with us every since. As regards the cassowaries, likewise the enclosures are certainly greater than the standards again. Each bird has a story and if you'd care to actually communicate with us, will happily share that information. Our team work extremely hard in our restaurant to provide a high standard of food quality and service. Yes, just like anywhere when it is busy it will take time to get served and for your meal to be cooked. Interestingly in the last several months, I've been visiting several cities and venues in Australia and I feel our team to a wonderful job. This (the fact that there is not a cast of thousands to wait, serve and cook for Australians) is something which everyone is going to have to adjust to as the tens of thousands of international hospitality workers who called Australia home for work or study will take time to return. Locally, one of the direct consequences of so many moving to North Queensland and paying inflated prices for property, is taking up a huge portion of the properties, previously available for rent. That's simply a fact which we have no control over and by all means, eat elsewhere if you prefer we have some lovely places in Trinity, Palm Cove, Ellis Beach and Port Douglas. This is why we give our visitors the return pass.
Fun at Hartley's
Sharyn_D, June 2022
The snake show was very informative and interesting. My granddaughter loved the Gondwana Gate way area, especially the interaction with kangaroos. The tour guide on boat cruise was very funny and made our tour a lot of fun. Food was good. All round value for money. We'd go earlier next time, found our selves rushing from one activity to another. Overall an informative fun day.
Response from Host, Aug 2022
Many thanks Sharyn. Yes indeed that's why we do allow visitors to return over the next two days (or extended period) so you can take your time and break up the visit if you'd like.
Fun and informative day out

Lagoon boat ride driver was so funny. Croc attack show was really good. Farm tour, wasn't a tour at all, just a talk.

Great entertainment value for money
Julie_L, May 2022
The best value day out in Far North Queensland. The experience is close up with all the animals, staff are interactive and genuine. Would recommend all visitors to FNQ spend the day here.
Response from Host, May 2022
Your comments are greatly appreciated Julie. Love the word 'genuine' as there's not a lot of that about these days. And likewise love your comments about value as that's an important focus for us. Hope you have a fabulous time enjoying the rest of FNQ.
