Make your way to the start of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to being your day of adventure. The tram operates throughout the day, so the timing and duration of your experience is up to you.
As you climb aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars, be prepared to rise from the floor of the Sonoran Desert, where temperatures frequently reach as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48C) to the cool alpine air at 8,516 feet (2,838 meters). Pass through enormous Ponderosa pines in this arctic-alpine forest, enjoying views of the San Jacinto Mountains and Chino Canyon.
When you reach Mountain Station, disembark to explore the facilities, which include observation decks, a cocktail lounge and dining facilities. Pause to watch a short film on the construction of the Tramway, then head out into the 14,000-acre (5,665-hectare) Mt San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area. Make use of the 54 miles (87 km) of hiking trails on foot in the summer or by snowshoe or cross-country skis in the winter.

Waiting in line for bus waiting in line for tickets. Waiting for hours to get on the tram. Terrible experience. Would never do it again.

The ride was awesome and the views were so cool. Great people from check in to the operators. Takes you up and you can hang out as long as you want! Do it if you can!

The views are absolutely beautiful. We just happened to go on a day that it was extremely cold and the mountain tops or still covered with snow. I didn’t get to see as much of the areas I would like to have because the time of year that we were visiting but if I’m ever back in the area I will definitely go again. Would love to see it in the summer!

I booked 3 tickets for me and my friends to ride the Tramway during a recent trip to Palm Springs. Although we still had to wait in the ticket line, purchasing in advance made sure we had tickets for the ride.
We also arrived early so the line was short. It can be a 3 hour wait on a busy day. For us, we waited maybe 30 minutes from ticket line to actual ride up the mountain.
Once we boarded, the views were spectacular. The chalet at the top gave amazing views. My only complaint was that the bar wasn't open yet. We wanted to have a glass of champagne while we enjoyed the vistas. There is a snack bar, but we didn't try it.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway offers a friendly and unique experience with rotating tramcars. When you are the Mountain Station, there are a variety of hiking trails to choose from. The weather is cooler at higher elevations, so it's important to bring warm clothing.

No wait time was included when I bought my ticket, I drive all the way up there pay $12 for parking get to the top just to find out it’s almost a 3hr wait so I drive back down and you don’t even let me cancel my booking for a refund which is just ridiculous
