What To Expect

Bite into the history of French cheesemaking on this unique food tour in Paris. Make your way to a specialty cheese stop in the 3rd arrondissement, where you meet your guide. Don a protective suit designed to preserve the delicate cheeses, and descend into a cool cellar filled with ripening blocks, rolls, and wheels—some as large as 77 pounds (35 kg).

Learn about the traditional art of cheesemaking and the importance of the maturing process as you admire the cellar’s supply. Taste several different varieties cut fresh from the block, such as Swiss Gruyère, bôfavre (a hard cheese from Switzerland's Jura Mountains), delicate Camembert, Etivaz (a hard cheese originating in the Alps), and Beaufort (a raw cow’s milk cheese).

Alternate bites of fragrant fromage with sips of fantastic French wines paired for complementary flavors. Also, nibble on fresh baguettes and fruit to complete your gourmet tasting experience. After your tasting tour, emerge back into the streets of Paris as a newly minted wine-and-cheese connoisseur.

Amazing experience
Nicolas_R, Mar 2023
The guide, Louis, was very knowledgeable and funny. Very good spoken English and very courteous. The store where the tasting takes place is also very nice. They have amazing products available for purchase. The products chosed for the tasting were incredible too. They teach you how to taste both wine and cheese as well as how to pair them together. Highly recommend.

Awesome experience! Our hostess was very knowledgeable and well articulated. Took time to explain each cheese with its pairing in a wonderful cava style room. If you live cheese and enjoy wine THIS is a “magnifique” experience.

We were in excellent gabbed with Louis. My wife and I were the only ones in attendance and Louis made it seem like the three of us were old friends. He was very informative and accommodating. I highly recommend this experience.

Exploring the relationship between cheese and wine!!
Sarah_P, Jan 2023
This was a brilliant experience. Agetha was so personable and knowledgable about both cheese, wine and the history relating to both of these in France. She was incredibly thorough in the way she talked about the cheese, the best way to taste the cheese and then how bring a wine into the mix too. She then talked about the relationship between the wine and the cheese in such an interesting way. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for how to get to know French cheese better, and have a couple of glasses of wine while doing so!!

Guillaume was passionate, knowledgeable, and professional. He skillfully helped us explore how the cheese and wine interacted, how the flavors paired and influenced each other. It was definitely focused on the cheese, though the wines were delicious. Come curious and you won't be disappointed.

This was a great thing to do and I would do it again. I learned a lot about cheeses and wine and I want to come back and do the cheese making class.

Shawn_K, Oct 2022
Fredrick was entertaining and very knowledgeable. I havd done many cooking classes and this one far exceeded expectations. It is a long evening 4:30-10:30 so come well rested which is difficult in Paris. Well worth it!
Fabulous

Exactly what we were looking for
Maksida_S, Sept 2022
This experience was exactly what we were looking for. We learned so much about how to pair cheeses with wines, and our host was very informative about any questions that he was asked. Two people in my group are not fond of goat cheese so he even kindly switched out the cheese for them, understanding that everyone should get a chance to enjoy. We took a lot out of this class and started doing our own pairings at home! Thank you!
Well organized program...
Rita_B, Aug 2022
Well organized program Agathe, the leader explained both broader geographical and manufacturing concepts and cheese specific characteristics Good sense of humor A new window into the cheese, wine and cheese&wine experience A fun and educational morning
