What To Expect

Meet your guide near Les Invalides in central Paris in the morning to begin your 3-hour walking tour. Focused on Paris’ 7th arrondissement, the walk takes in the UNESCO World Heritage–listed left bank of the Seine River as well as famous monuments and attractions such as the Musée Rodin, the Eiffel Tower and Hôtel des Invalides.  Head through the Musée Rodin’s beautiful gardens with your guide and admire ‘The Thinker’ — the famous statue taking pride of place there. Then, marvel at the grand dome of Les Invalides — inside which Napoleon is laid to rest — and listen as your guide highlights the military monuments and museums for which the 7th arrondissement is famous.  Wander down quaint side streets and along busy boulevards, and soak up the atmosphere among the busy Parisians shopping, working and going about their daily lives. On route, enjoy three food tastings of traditional French produce such as cheese and pastries, and perhaps take a moment to chat to the vendors you meet.  Continue through the Champ de Mars’ open parkland and enjoy panoramic views over the iconic Eiffel Tower. Then, after three hours exploring the hidden highlights of this delightful corner of the French capital, your tour will come to an end near the Champ de Mars.

An excellent tour that I felt really gave insight into the way normal Parisians live, as well as highlighting some of the best things about Paris and France in general. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgable about all of the areas we visited and was more than willing to discuss daily life in France with me we had a great chat about life in France vs the United States where I am from. Highly recommend taking this tour for a balanced look at life in Paris and some beautiful sites as well.

This is a great tour, the best one we did in Paris last week. May 22, 2015 We met our tour guide, Solene, perfectly on time. We spoke for a few minutes and walked to the Rodin Museum. It was a fairly quick visit, but we enjoyed our time there and we viewed amazing sculptures, like the Thinker. This is world class! I did not take notes, but rather many photos, as that is my love. We vsited the famous Veterans Hospital and Chapel, and learned more interesting French history. Afterwards we walked to a very special cheese shop and tasted delicious cheese, that Solene bought and gave us to take back, to further enjoy in our hotel. We walked to a district with great food shops and we had coffee in a wonderful cafe, tasty pastry as well as bread.. Eventually we walked to the Eiffel Tower and learned all about this very historical area, as well as the origin of probably the most visited structure on earth. This was or best tour, as our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and personable. Coincidentally we ran in to Solene later that day as she was guiding a private tour. Solene found us, in the midst of the busty City of Lights, as we where walking near the Paris Opera House. The is a very special tour with a very, very special person and tour guide.

This was an outstanding outing. My husband, and two daughters10 and 14 thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely walk. All of the sights were wonderful, but the best part of the tour was the chance to visit shops and cafes that are frequented by Parisians. Our guide was wonderful! She was informative and knowledgeable. We really felt special. I recommend this highly for a charming, leisurely outing.
