    Great way to learn about Paris

    Not expecting much -since this was a free tour - we were really pleased with the guide (Alberto) and the tour content. We started with a brief but very enjoyable history lesson at Notre Dame, wandered through interesting sites through time, and ended with "modern" history at the Louvre and adjacent Tuilleries gardens. Alberto did not try to overwhelm us with facts but shared a lot of interesting history along the way.

    Thank you for your review, although we think you may have mixed up this visit with another one that you took. We do not offer free tours, and this is a subject that we take very seriously. The reason for this is that we are committed to supporting the professional guide community here in Paris, who have chosen their career by passion and who do an amazing job sharing our history, art and culture with our visitors every day. Guides on free tours are not paid, they often have to pay the company a fee depending on how many guests they have on the tour (remember the group photo?) and the only way they can be paid for their work is by asking you for tips or upselling other tours, so the tour is not really free for you anyway. We are very much against this, it puts the guides in a precarious situation financially - potentially working and losing money - and we believe they should be compensated properly for their great work, not having to count on tips or commissions. That said, we are very glad that you enjoyed your tour, we hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris, and that we may see you again on another of our tours with another of our wonderful guides!

    The stories about the artists and the history - including 5 minutes to enter Sacre Coeur (if entry line is short)would be a nice addition. Guide was informative and fun :)

    Thank you for your review! We are happy you enjoyed your tour. The guides have many stories about the artists and their fascinating lives in Montmartre, but it's true we don't go into the Sacré Coeur during the tour. There can be some waiting times and it takes time to go around the basilica and see it properly inside. However it's very easy to go in after your tour, just ask your guide and they will be able to help you. We hope you had a great stay in Paris!

    We went on the Montmartre tour (Sacre Couer was our last stop) with Eloise as our tour guide and we enjoyed this a lot. Eloise was lively, knowledgeable, and very engaged. We almost didn't make it to the tour, but the tour operator (Memories France) was great and called us to let us know that the tour was about to start (we were in the vicinity less than 5 minutes away from the meeting place and thought that it would start 15 minutes later). Eloise was very gracious together with the rest of the group. Montmartre is a lovely place - it has a character of its own. A must-visit! The tour guide, tour, and tour operator are two thumbs up!

    Personable guide, cheerful and helpful. The walk lasted about 1.5 hours and wasn’t as informative as I would’ve liked. She did choose good highlights. Would’ve liked more history not necessarily about architecture.

There certainly is a great deal to see and learn about in the Marais - plenty of unique and varied architecture, fascinating history from many different periods, a great selection of museums and galleries and a lively current shopping and dining scene. Our guides try to cover as much as possible and touch on as many topics as possible during the tour, so that everyone's interests are covered. We hope that the tour gave you a thorough introduction to this wonderful neighbourhood so that you were able to perhaps explore further in your own time and fully discover all the many delights of the Marais.     Ariane was personable and informative. Her use of the iPad showing us how the area looked in the past and how it has changed was really helpful. Walking by cafes where Baldwin, Hughes, Hemingway, et al gathered, engaged in intellectual banter and wrote was wonderful. Learning about Delacroix’s art in St. Surplice was eye-opening. All-in-all, a really informative tour.

    Our guide, Roseann was excellent. A wealth of information, just an excellent tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour of the Latin area of Paris. My husband & I were the only ones to show up so we had a magnificent tour!We booked thru Viator but she was from Memories of France.

    Our tour guide did an excellent job explaining the history of the St Germain des pres neighborhood and connecting with each person on the tour. She went above and beyond, from taking pictures of everyone in the Luxembourg for their Paris memories to giving excellent cafe recommendations.

    Ramon was GREAT! It ended up just being he and I and it was nice to have the personal tour where we could divert off topic as needed. He was very kind, knew a lot about the area and was genuinely interested in ensuring I understood what he was discussing. I appreciated going into non-tourist locations, off beaten paths. It really showed a different side of Paris. I would take another tour with him any time!
