What To Expect

Your tour starts at a central location in Paris, where you receive your audio guide for your visit to Monet's House and Gardens. Then board the bus for the drive from the city to Giverny. 

When you arrive, you have independent time to explore Monet's studio, home, and vibrant gardens. Monet lived here with his family for more than 40 years, working on some of his Impressionist masterpieces. Inside, you can see his kitchen, sitting room, reading room, dining room, and bedroom, plus admire his collection of Japanese prints, which provided him inspiration. 

Outside, stroll around rows and rows of flowers—from roses to nasturtium to blooms from East Asia—and visit the water lily pond and Japanese bridge, surrounded by weeping willows. This is a scene you probably recognize from some of his paintings. Throughout your self-guided tour, listen to the audio guide for commentary about Monet's work and life. 

When your time is up, return to the starting point in Paris, where your tour ends.

Good tour to Givernay

They were on time, the audio portion worked and we had a good time at Givernay. I would recommend this tour if you just wanted to be on your own. Iy was very organized.

Too many people in the gardens to be able to enjoy the gardens or the house. Felt like we we cattle being pushed along. Not enough information on how to get around and our voice boxes only worked part of the time. Our tour director counted wrong and one girl was left behind because she couldn’t find where the bus was. We had to turn around and go back to pick her up🙁

We went immediately to the Lily pond and could have stayed there the whole time. We were just captured by the gentle flowing Epte River embellished by vibrant fall colors. The green bridges were themselves a delight. The home of Monet was a wonderful addition. To walk in his colorful rooms was a gift. We particularly loved the bright yellow dining area. How warm it must have felt in the morning sun. We could return again and again to Giverny—-and will for sure in our mind’s eye.

The tour left on time, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and the gardens and home were spectacular. We were back in Paris at 1:15 or so.

Had a lovely time, and made a friend a long the way. The tours are a very easy way to learn about the site you are visiting and making other friends! Monet’s home and garden was breathtakingly beautiful. I really enjoyed my time !

Monet’s Paintings Coming to Life

I felt thrilled when I saw the bridge, water lilies and garden depicted in several of Monet’s paintings. It felt like his paintings came to life! I had the most number of pictures in this area. It was also interesting to see where he lived and how he cared for his garden. Suggestion: Meet up point for the tour should be closer to a metro station. We almost didn’t make it as we had to walk far. We couldn’t get a cab either.

The gardens were outstanding. I felt like Monet was visible in the composition of the flowers and plants. I would avoid Saturday visits to ensure time and space to meditate during the visit.

What a beautiful place! We did the 1/2 day self guided tour. Make sure you understand the map before separating from the guide so you can make your way around easily. Was a little worried about the early fall season being limited color. The gardens did not disappoint very beautiful. The house a little underwhelming the dining room and kitchen were my favorites. Don’t miss the Japanese garden amazingly beautiful no wonder Monet was in love with his home.

It’s a beautiful place and I enjoyed every minute of it. Who is happy we did not have a guided tour since we could go with our paste and not have to stay with a large group.

We loved the gardens overall themselves, but there was not enough time so the visit felt rushed. The bus did not leave for the gardens on time, and we did not depart on time after rushing through to make sure we made the meeting time.

Not a good value. Next time would take the train. The audio tour was a disappointment. Expected to see Monet's grave. Monet's house and grounds were beautiful and interesting.

The gardens and grounds are absolutely beautiful! Touring the inside of Monet’s home was a special treat as copies of his work were on display. The half day was a perfect amount of time for the trip from Paris. The self guided audio tour allowed us to go at our own pace, which we liked.

Giverney was lovely but the transportation was a nightmare. It was no car day in Paris which the company should have known and planned for. Once we had traveled for over 2 hours on the return, a group of us asked to be dropped at a Metro station so we could make our own way back.
