The guide was excellent! I appreciated the directions and opportunity to explore the scents. So far it smells good! We were instructed to wait a week for the scents to combine. A family from Orlando, FL USA thought it appropriate/the rules didn’t apply to them to bring several kids under the age of 9, which was disruptive to the experience, but I just wish they would have abided by the rules. Otherwise great!

the experience was nice but...there are so many scents to chose and combine. I definitly would reccommend smaller groups and/or adding an additional 30 minutes or instructor. I personally did not get enough one on one time to confidently create on my own. Overall we enjoyed the process and results. I would do it again!

The woman who did the workshop with me was wonderful. She was 5th generation, she knew so much and was incredibly patient with me. I do not know much about perfume and get overwhelmed with the smells. She was kind and patient with my questions and me taking my time to smell what I like. Great experience!

I was the only one in the class. The ladies were very kind and helpful. I learned about the different scents and how top, heart, and base notes work. I got to pick out my scents while my instructor made sure they matched and created the formula for me. It was fun choosing the scents and getting to pipette the my chosen scents into the bottle. She also helped me chose gifts for my parents from the store.

Oh yeah the different types of bass through top smells was an amazing experience since individually they may not smell like perfume, or cologne, but together next properly in the right parts it comes out amazing, much like an orchestra. Instructors were very helpful and nice. Decent part of Paris made it felt safer. However the only thing which was unfortunate was that they sold me at my request another bottle of perfume which was too big and had to be thrown out at Paris airport (unless you checked it in which unfortunate my bag was already on the plane). The price was cheaper at the shop so it wasn’t horrible but more annoying. Make sure your bottle is less than 100 mL just in case (I didn’t watch closely and I think my bottle that I bought additionally was 120 ml; bad on me, but beware).

I booked the lower priced workshop from Molinard, as the more expensive Molinard workshop wasn’t available. I did consider a more expensive workshop from another company, and that might have been more enjoyable for me, but to be honest, I was worried that I’d be disappointed as I am something of a hardcore fragrance lover, and so I tried to manage my expectations. Despite having 90 different notes to choose from, I was disappointed to find many of my favourites weren’t available, this is something I’d need to check if I ever took another perfume workshop. Tobacco, coffee, sandalwood, (and ‘boozy’ notes like rum) were unavailable, and so I had to make the best of what was on offer, which was a challenge. I was surprised to find the notes were already diluted, I’d expected to be working with oils. This does make sense though, for an hour and a half workshop it’s much easier to know what your perfume is going to smell like (I did say I was a hardcore fragrance lover). Once you’ve selected a range of top, heart and base notes, your guide helps you select the best combination for your fragrance. They then suggest how many ml of each note to add to your personal fragrance creation. Our guide suggested a combination that was base note heavy, which means it will evolve over time. A good call, I like that in a fragrance. Overall? A bit of fun, and reasonably priced. I doubt I’ll ever wear the fragrance I created, but surprisingly I must say it smells pretty decent, it might not disgrace itself when compared to some mainstream designer fragrances. Now to look for a significantly more serious fragrance creation experience.

We had a wonderful time making our own perfumes. The staff were friendly and helpful and explained every step of the process. I would definitely recommend and will definitely return. If possible I would recommend booking directly with Molinard as Viatour didn’t make them aware of our booking (we booked the day before), but the manager was amazing and managed to squeeze us in at the time we had booked. We were really thankful to the incredible staff for such a brilliant experience.
