What To Expect

Offering up an endless assortment of affordable goods since 1885, the St-Ouen flea market spans an astonishing 15 acres (6 hectares). Make your way to the Porte de Clignancourt metro station in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, where you’ll meet your guide and set off on a walking tour of this historic market, also known as Marché aux Puces St-Ouen.

With 2,000 indoor and open-air stalls, the market can be overwhelming for a first-time visitor. Your local guide will give you an insider’s overview of the 16 different submarkets and lead you to the best and most unique stalls, where you can chat with vendors and learn the history behind the goods they sell.

Whether you’re looking for vintage clothes, original art, books, antique furniture or unique household goods, your guide will help you track down treasure at an affordable price and negotiate with French-speaking vendors to arrange payment and shipping, if needed. At the end of your 2-hour shopping bonanza, your guide will escort you back to the metro station, from where you can return to your hotel or continue exploring on your own.

Traveller Tips

Loved the market itself: can be very expensive but is fun to window shop, pick up one small thing, and get away from the purely touristy area.
St Ouen is just outside of the actual city center, and it's an awesome place to shop.

None to share as we never met our guide. I called phone listed & left a message we would be late. No answer. Guide did not call us.

Tobias was a wonderful guide. Meet some fabulous vendors. Found some great things very happy we did the tour
Great tour, would definitely do it again
Dorothy_A, Dec 2022
Tobias was a great guide. He had very useful tips and showed us the best markets. He was very patient and didn’t mind that I was 15 minutes late! .
Great tour. Lousy directions.

The gentleman that conducted the tour was great. Knowledgeable, funny, witty, kept us on the move. Went overboard the tour was about 3 hours. That being said, Viator direction on paper are inaccurate. 50 Av. de la Parte de Clignancourt shows up almost to the freeway at a gas station, not a MCDonalds. Very confusing
Response from Host, Dec 2022
thank you! you are right, the meeting point is best described at 79 bd Ornano, outside the McDonald's. We will enter the change immediately.
Great tour! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a great way to explore the Flea Markets of Paris in a fun and educational way! Our tour guide Tobias was very knowledgeable about the different markets and was able to guide us through the complicated passages. He even tailored the tour to what items our group was interested in seeing, and he was able to communicate with vendors with us if we had any questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is considering visiting the flea/antique markets! They were much easier to navigate with Tobias as our guide.
Bargain hunting with the best

Our guide, Tobias, was absolutely wonderful! He asked what we wanted to see and made sure that is what he showed us. He was fun, informative, and helped us get the best price!
A must for the largest flea market in the world

Best intro to the market! I went the weekend before and was discouraged and overwhelmed; our guide was knowledgeable and fun!
Good for some
Frances_R, Mar 2022
Was good to hear the history of the markets and to see different areas but the guide kept taking us to parts of the markets that sold huge pieces of furniture and garden settings etc. As overseas travellers we cannot buy any of these things and take them home so would have been better to stick to the parts that sold smaller goods
Good historical overview
Karen_E, Sept 2021
Sean is a very personable and knowledgeable guide but the tour needs to be adjusted to his audience …as a tour guide myself I try to tailor my presentation to my audiences interests…this is not a criticism but I hope a helpful critique. We were a group of 8 all 60+…I personally found it hard to relate to the “younger” points of interest (space ships, cartoon characters, records …all things hip with the younger generation lol if “hip” is still a word )when there are so many other “older” things I’d have liked to seen…we ended up leaving the tour early to go explore on our own. P.S. not my first time at the flea market so I ended up showing my friend around…
Interesting

Florent gave us a birds eye view of the huge St Ouen flea market. It was an interesting and informative tour.
Very informative and friendly guide

This was a very useful guided visit to get a feel for the huge extent of the Puces de Saint-Ouen. There is so much to see, and this organised tour of the best areas to visit allowed us to make best use of the time we had there. The guide had a great deal of local knowledge and was very easy to follow.
Great day away from the city!

St Ouen is just outside of the actual city center, and it's an awesome place to shop. Your guide will take you to this amazing area with all these beautiful antiques and vintage stuff, but surrounding the real antiques and vintage stuff is all sorts of amazing fast fashion places. You can't go wrong shopping there, no matter what you do! There's a fantastic place for lunch, too, Chez Louisette, in the first markets you'll go to! It is NOT to be missed! Order the Muscles!
Good for a first time
beth346, July 2019
The guide was very friendly, and the tour was nice for my first time at the flea market to orient myself, find the best markets, and not get lost, so no regrets. I was just expecting more, like some history of the flea market etc. I also probably should have taken her up on the offer to help us find something in particular, but, alas, I am too shy for my own good. Loved the market itself: can be very expensive but is fun to window shop, pick up one small thing, and get away from the purely touristy area.

My son and I spent A wonderful morning in the markets thanks to our guide, who was very interested in helping us to have a good experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of the markets and the layout because it’s unlike any flea market that I’ve seen in the states and it enhances the experience to have a knowledgeable guide.
Fun at the Flea!

This was a very fun and helpful tour. We own a business in the Chicago Suburbs and having a local who was fun and knowledgeable guide us through the huge market was great! He provided great tips as to how to negotiate respectfully with the local merchants.

George_S, Apr 2018
Our tour was conducted by Florant, who proved to be extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He took us to different areas of the Flea Market that all proved to be very interesting for each of the four members of our family. We were very pleased with how Florant helped us to understand the role that the St-Ouen played in 19th and 20th century Parisian society. His stories were very entertaining, and his recommendations of restaurants were excellent! A great experience! Highly recommended!

Marion was very helpful. I’m glad we were with her to get an overview of the market layout before venturing out on our own (I honestly don’t know if we would have found the actual flea market without her as there is a “pop-up” market before arriving that is full of typical tourist stuff. Worth the $

I enjoyed this trip very much. I was able to buy something that I carried back to U.S.-a statue. The booths are fabulous. The guide was very nice too. I would recommend this excursion to anybody interested in art and antiques. Plan to do it again if I get back to Paris.

This was a great tour, the guide gave us a great insight to the area and how the flea market became established. It was like going through an amazing live museum of Paris. If you are looking for something different and getting slightly outside Paris, then I recommend this for you.
If you have time to spare in Paris...

If you have time to spare in Paris, check out this market. So many interesting finds in this place. Our tour guide was fun and engaging and he gave us a lot of trivia about this place. You will be on your feet the whole time so senior citizens be warned.
